Deputy Manager - Human Resource - Manufacturing (4-7 yrs)

Deputy manager HR - GBSI

Based in Mumbai, India with functional reporting to the India HR Head and administrative reporting to the head of GBS India, you will :

- Be responsible for recruiting team members for a young and fast growing organization - Managing the entire staffing process: recruiting, screening, interviewing &selecting employees

- Work in close coordination with placement agencies, temporary agencies, and others to enhance the recruiting process

- Work with people managers and leaders on

a) Ensuring a smooth on-boarding / induction process all new employees

b) Driving the deployment of the company Performance Management system through the Performance Evaluation Process (PEP)

- Setting employee objectives, defining and monitoring KPI's, rolling out incentive sheets etc.

a) Leadership development for existing and new people managers

b) Managing employee escalations, marginal performers, difficult situations

c) Salary reviews in coordination with leaders and HR leadership

d) Conducting exit interviews

- Have a daily interaction with the GBS team members to identify and understand people issues and resolve them on an urgent basis

- Work closely with people managers & team members to proactively address business issues related to team development and productivity

- Develop specific GBS India guidelines and regulations (e.g. for night shifts, weekend work, etc.) to ensure a solid and fair base for the further and fast growth of GBS India

- Develop employee engagement, rewards and recognition activities to maintain and enhance employee motivation among a young and energetic team

- Develop retention strategies thus reducing attrition

- Work with outsourced payroll providers / India HR team for Payroll, Leave, LTA, Provident Fund, Gratuity or Tax issues related to unit team members

- Identify and organize functional and interpersonal training and developmental activities which contribute to the teams effectiveness and engagement - Drive the utilisation of the company online Learning Management System (LMS)

- Work with business and HR leadership on HR strategy and ensure that the company HR strategies and programs are properly implemented at the location

- Analyze people processes, data and trends to make recommendations to management team for continuous improvement

- Ensure appropriate controls are in place and managed effectively for all critical HR processes in line with SOX requirements (desirable)

Person Specification/Attributes :

- Should have Master's degree / MBA in HR from an institution of repute.

- 5-6 years experience in a specialist role like Staffing, Compensation, HR policies, Performance & Talent Management, Learning and Development/Training.

- Have good communication & Interpersonal skills.

- Have domain knowledge having worked in IT / shared services organization. Exposure to KPO/BPO/Shared services/Service Industry HR operations is desirable

- Collaborate and develop relationships across a matrix organization.

- Coach People Managers' through complex, difficult issues.

- Analyze and leverage data/information to influence business decisions in co-ordination with people managers and leaders.

- Have Leadership skills with hands-on delivery experience

- Multi-task and perform effectively under pressure within a multi-cultural, international environment.

- Require male candidates only and should be from an MNC
