Job Description :

Position : Deputy Head Relationships and Placements

Main Role :

- Be an integral part of Global Institutional and Investment Banking Division of bank.

- Have a clear understanding of the range of IB, AM, FIG products and services.

- Ensure the implementation of the marketing strategy for the business by:

1. Enhancing the existing business relations and developing of new relations with clients.

2. Proposing transactions for each of the business groups - Debt Finance, Equity, Proprietary book, Funds and FIG

3. Distributing and placing the bank's equity, debt and fund offerings.

4. Work closely with Head Office teams to ensure that other banking products and services are offered to the clients.

5. Own the clients relationship and ensure effective placements

Principal accountabilities:

Relationships:

1. To build and establish strong relationships internally within the GIIB team.

2. To build and establish strong relationships externally with local, regional and international corporate issuers in order to originate profitable deals - typically large and complex credit, equity, investment transactions and trade finance transactions

3. To continuously track market developments to identify potential opportunities where the business's services could be availed by such issuers.

4. Plan and execute sales activities such as cold prospecting, reviewing customer history to identify sales opportunities and tracking customer meeting notes submitted by the team to ensure effective follow up on actions required

5. Develop and maintain a highly satisfied clients relationships by offering prompt and courteous services.

Placements:

6. To source build and establish strong relationships with

a. Institutional investors such as pension funds, sovereign funds, insurance companies, family offices and other asset managers being local, regional and international banks and lenders

7. Plan and execute placement activities by prospecting for investors, reviewing investor history to identify sales opportunities, conducting presentations with existing and prospective investors, leading road shows, conferences and investor seminars and tracking investor meeting file notes to complete follow on actions required

8. To identify and liase if required with third parties to increase the scope and breadth of distribution of offerings introduced to the market by bank

Product and Brand:

9. Maintain a strong working knowledge of products and services provided by the bank's investment banking, asset management and FIG business

10. Champion the bank's brand and take responsibility for positioning of the bank in the respective market segments

11. Contribute to the development of new products and services, based on customer feedback

Team:

12. Lead the development of a team which can effectively cross sell the products and services into the relationship network

13. Supervise and train the team on lead generation, pitch development, and presentations to potential clientele.

14. Manage the team towards achieving the desired goals.

Personal Specifications:

- Post graduate qualification in finance and or professional certification (ACCA / CFA)

- Minimum experience of 5 - 8 years in corporate & investment banking

- Strong understanding of Financial markets and in particular Equity, Debt and Capital market products

- Ability to develop business with local, regional and international clients

- Ability to manage teams and obtain results

- Strong understanding of investor and lender decision processes

- Good inter-personal and business networking skills

- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills

- Ability to work long hours and under pressure
