Role & Responsibilities:

The Deputy Director role is a chance to be a part of a pioneering and innovative centre tackling one of the biggest economic challenges facing India, women's workforce participation, and leadership. The Deputy Director will be instrumental in setting the strategy for the centre as well as leading various cutting-edge initiatives and programmes. The Deputy Director will serve as a second in command to the Executive Director.

- Collaborate with senior leadership to create sound strategic plans for the centre to maximize impact

- Create resource and communication plans and implement these plans

- Support the Executive Director in developing a research strategy to build depth of knowledge on women's challenges in the workforce

- Drive the implementation of all programmes and research

- Lead advocacy initiatives such as the Workforce Gender Equality Pledge

- Lead the Fellowship programme for young women leaders

- Build partnerships with senior leaders and research organizations based on programme and research needs

- Promote and facilitates cutting-edge interdisciplinary research

- Manage all communications and reporting with corporate partner(s)

Desired candidate profile:

- 10+ years of administrative and research experience at nonprofit, foundations, think tanks, or a comparable research and administration role at a corporation

- Master's degree required in related fields

- Ph.D. preferred in related fields (psychology, gender studies, sociology, political science, etc.) with clear interest in working on gender issues

- Strong leadership and clear vision, with ability to secure commitment to vision

- Excellent strategic thinking and planning skills, with ability to define and articulate strategy, priorities and develop achievable plans

- Excellent execution skills with track record of achieving impact

- Excellent stakeholder management skills. Ability to work well with internal and external partners is essential

- Strong team management skills, with ability to establish and communicate clear standards and expectations, delegate effectively and give constructive feedback

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with effective oral and written communication and presentation and media skills

- Must be capable of setting priorities and working under pressure
