Deputy/Assistant Director - Policy Advocacy/Govt Relations

About the Association:

A recently formulated industry association is hiring Deputy/Assistant Director for various verticals. The association is formed with the aim to promote steel and the steel industry to customers, the industry, media and the general public.The aim of association will also work in transforming the Indian steel industry as a global leader acclaimed for its Quality, Productivity & Competitiveness.

Position : Multiple positions at Deputy/Asst. Director level in area of - Raw materials / Trade & Logistics/ Marketing / Technology & Environment

Compensation- At par with industry

Experience: 8 to 15 years

Location : Delhi-NCR

Educational Qualification:

- Bachelors in Engineering / Economics / Business management

- Masters in Business Administration (MBA), Masters in Business Economics (MBE) or Master in Economics / Phd in Economics

Candidates with prior consulting, govt. relations. policy advocacy experience will also be considered even if candidate is not directly from metals & mining industry.

Job Description:

- The personnel will need to know common issues of concern of the Indian Steel industry, he/she should have a regular tracking of industry trends,

- A strong quantitative aptitude for data mining and conducting market analytics.

- shall be able to formulate independent view on reforming policies, legislation, and other steel industry related to increase private investment and related economic performance

- Policy advocacy based on studies of best practices and upcoming trends in global Steel sector.

- Liaisoning / Partnering with other Industry associations such as ASSOCHAM, FICCI, Indian Chamber of Commerce etc.

- Maintaining effective relationships with Govt. agencies, media house's and industry partners.

Candidate Requirement:

- An ideal candidate will be who has the requisite educational background and has association with Indian Steel Industry for significant number of years. People with Research & Consulting background will be ideal. Good communication and written language skills are a must.

- Should have expertise in one of the core areas related to Steel Industry - Coal or Other Fuels / Iron ore & other raw material, Technology & Environment, Marketing/International Trade/Logistics.

- The selected candidate will get an opportunity to work with very senior players in the steel industry both at OEMs and Government organizations and Policy makers.
