Deloitte is looking for a senior professional in its financial advisory services practice. This practice advises managements of Indian and global corporate groups as well as private equity and sovereign funds on strategic issues in the context of their acquisition, divestiture and investment decisions. This advice spans entry and investment strategy, market analysis, commercial due diligence, partner evaluation, synergy assessment and business planning.

Key responsibilities of the role would include:

- Leading interactions with clients or potential clients - representing the firm as an expert in the area of corporate strategy, M&A and due diligence

- Providing sector expertise, and contributing to the firm's knowledge and intellectual property creation in chosen industry sectors

- Developing the practice - winning work from clients in chosen industry sectors, including from financial sponsors investing into those sectors

- Leading and mentoring teams on client cases and engagements

- Spearheading select client relationships

Attributes that we would look for in a successful candidate:

- A post-graduate degree in management from a leading Indian or global business school

- Exceptional analytical skills as well as excellent communication

- Experience, spanning at least 10 years, in strategy and M&A - either in a management consulting firm or the corporate development/strategy function of a large corporate group

- Deep sector expertise in one of the following sectors in India the Consumer & Retail, Financial Services or Healthcare & Lifesciences

- Specific experience of commercial due diligence in the context of private equity investments in the Indian market would be preferred

- Experience of leading and managing client cases within a strategy consulting firm or practice will be preferred
