DataWind - Vice President - Production

DataWind Inc. is a global leader in the development of consumer electronics and strives to provide world-wide internet connectivity. We offer a series of wireless web access devices and related web delivery platforms, including tablets, notebooks and other industry-leading web-browsing devices.

We are currently seeking a Vice President, Production based out of Hyderabad who will be involved in overseeing the processes that are incurred on consumer electronic product from the initial stages to completion.

Responsibilities :

- Lead the manufacturing, assembling, and repairing processes, and other associated material handling products to achieve sales and profitability goals;

- Lead process and continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiencies, reduce cost and increase customer satisfaction;

- Supervise workers who handle certain aspects of the manufacturing process;

- Liaising with other lines of production and departments within the company;

- Monitor product life cycle and ensure successful implementation of all product changes;

- Lead an integrated product team to ensure optimal level of customer satisfaction;

- Lead lean transformation for their given product line and collaborate on site level lean transformation to optimize site level execution;

- Prepare strategic plans, develop annual operating budgets, conduct monthly/quarterly business reviews, variance explanations and reports;

- Ensure process implementation and robustness.

Requirements :

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, Master's degree would be considered an asset;

- Minimum 10 years of experience in Production/ Operations Management in a factory or manufacturing plant environment related to Consumer Electronic Products;

- In-depth knowledge of Lean Six Sigma tools: 5S system, seven wastes, value stream mapping, kaizen, flow, etc.

- In-depth knowledge of inter-dependencies and relationships between engineering systems;

- Technical knowledge of the various engineering disciplines required for engineering solutions development including mechanical, electrical, controls, robotics, and software;

- Excellent communication and management skills;

- Exceptional interpersonal and team work skills; strong analytical and problem solving skills.
