Data Scientist - EduTech Startup (2-5 yrs)

- As a Data Scientist, you will help in supporting various data platforms and business reporting functions that span across multiple technologies for the company. You will help in providing and enabling solutions that help the key associates across the firm get access to data, metrics and timely reports.
The other key responsibilities as a Data Scientist will include :
- Designing techniques and approaches to design an integrated solution to address business requirements related to BIG Data by using NLP/Machine Learning/Text Mining techniques
- Owning the development and operational support plans
- Interfacing and communicating with a diverse set of global engineers on business objectives, prioritizing projects and feature sets
- Building a Big data based Risk repository on an operational Platform,through leveraging technologies like Spark, AKKA, Kafka, HBase, Hadoop and ELK
- Buildiing functionality for data analytics, search and aggregation
- Recommend and implement best practices around application of statistical modelling
- Performance engineering of big data systems
- Work with data scientists to implement machine learning models
Candidate Profile :
- Should have a Bachelors degree in Engineering or Computer Science from a premier engineering college
- Experience with relevant technologies and of enterprise class systems implementations such as large data warehouses, ETL, Business Intelligence Stack and Big Data
- At least 2 years professional experience
- Genuine interest in the learning process - teaching, training and assisted problem-solving with a desire to transform education through data
- Strong data modelling skills and excellent knowledge of MySQL, PostgreSQL, Linux. Data Analytics experience in managing large amounts of data and analyzing trends
- Comfortable switching between different computing environments
- Willing to learn new technologies through hands-on experimentation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented, self-driven individual who thrives with limited direction
