Data Scientist - eCommerce

This position is with one of the promising E-commerce company in Mumbai

Looking for a Senior Data Scientist who will anticipate future business needs and identifies opportunities for complex analyses. He/She will gathers and analyze data to solve and address complex business problems and evaluate scenarios to make predictions on future outcomes and support decision making. This person is expected to designs and drive the creation of new standards and best practices in the use of statistical data modeling, big data and optimization tools.

Responsibilities

- Have knowledge of Queue Management Systems and relational database designs. Knowledge of NoSQL will be an added advantage.

- Will implement solutions to business problems using data analysis, data mining, optimization tools, and machine learning techniques and statistics

- Build data-science and technology based algorithmic solutions to address business needs

- Design large scale models using Logistic Regression, Linear Models Family (Poisson models, Survival models, Hierarchical models, Na- ve-Bayesian estimators), Conjoint Analysis, Spatial models, Time-series models, text mining.

- Analyze, define and document system requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, interfaces with other systems, auditing, reporting requirements and production configuration.

- Create scripts and packages for data integration, data maintenance or bug fixes.

- Prepares and conducts trainings and mentors team members on latest analytical methodologies

- Engages & inspires team members to deep dive into analytical problems.

- Supports/participates in any talent acquisition activities.

- Drives prototyping efforts of analytical solutions and implements them.

Skills and Qualification

- Masters or Ph.D. in a field with a strong quantitative focus (such as econometrics, physics, biostatistics, computer science, applied mathematics, or engineering), from reputed university

- Expert knowledge of SQL

- Knowledge of one (or more) scripting language

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English)

- Experience working as a data scientist including designing and building a recommendation engine.

- Experience of working in a start-up environment

- Expert knowledge of one or several analysis tool(s) including R, MATLAB, Octave, SAS
