Data Scientist - Analytics - BFSI (5-10 yrs)
Job description
Job Responsibilities
Understand and execute wide range of client requirements in terms of data modeling, machine learning, statistical analysis, algorithm development, analysis planning etc.
Delivery and project management of advance analytics based solutions
Presentation of results to clients and leading client engagements
Coordinating and working closely with remote teams to ensure delivery
Job Requirements
Strong statistical and computational background
Deep understanding and proven expertise in core machine learning concepts:
Data preprocessing and transformation
Feature engineering
Supervised/Unsupervised Learning
Model validation and fine tuning
Algorithm design and implementation
Hands on experience working with Big Data
Strong written, oral communication and presentation skills.
Strong multi tasking skills
Ability to work independently or as a member of a team and open to travel
Technical Skills
Expert level proficiency in data handling (SQL)
Expert level proficiency in machine learning using at least one platform: R, SAS, Python, Matlab
Working knowledge of Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS/Hive/Pig/Mahout)
Familiarity with C/C++, Java, Linux environment and command line tools
Education
Graduate in one of the following fields with strong academic credentials:
Computer Science/IT
Operations Research/Applied Math
Engineering
Statistics
Experience
5-10 years of experience in analytics
Domain expertise in BFSI
