Data Architect - Master Data

As the data architecture lead in the Honeywell Enterprise Analytics organization you will play an integral role in developing solution architectures for data management and analytics programs/projects in alignment to the enterprise data management and analytics architecture assets (including master data management, data quality, data integration, metadata management, enterprise data model, business intelligence, analysis, & reporting, diagnostic and predictive analytics, data virtualization, and change data capture) - principles, blueprints, patterns, standards, roadmaps, and best practices. You will partner with the enterprise architecture team to continuously improve the data management and analytics architecture assets through collaborative development, constructive feedback, and exceptions or deviations communication and management. You will actively engage development, infrastructure, security, audit & risk, and other relevant technology stakeholders to design solutions holistically that meets the functional and non-functional requirements and at a lower cost of ownership and risk. You will also actively participate and shape the lifecycle and rationalization of data management and analytics solutions in alignment to the broader enterprise strategies and plans. This position will report to the Honeywell Enterprise Analytics Master Data Lead position.

Key Responsibilities:

- Create data architectures and logical and physical data models to support program/project initiatives in alignment with the overall enterprise data strategy

- Architect data profiling, analysis, discovery, visualization, mining, diagnostic, and predictive analytic capabilities

- Define measurable metrics and the minimal required attributes for each domain or subject area to support robust and successful deployments using the designated MDM platform

- Define requirements for data matching and merging rules, survivorship criteria and data stewardship workflows using the enterprise MDM tool

- Identify gaps between established standards, best practices, etc. and proposed solutions, and follow the exception/waiver process as needed

- Ensure alignment of programs/projects to enterprise architecture principles, enterprise architecture plans, blueprints, patterns, and standards and communicate any exceptions or gaps to the enterprise architecture stakeholders

- Influence stakeholders to balance their requirements against what's most appropriate and find the right balance or compromise

- Evangelize business intelligence, data warehousing, and big data best practices

- Support enterprise architecture compliance and governance efforts to evaluate project proposals for appropriate architectural fit

- Promotes the use of shared data management and analytics capabilities including the underlying infrastructure, plans and roadmaps, documentation of interfaces, internal and external data integration to improve operational efficiency and lower total cost of ownership

- Participating and influencing vendor selection of packaged data management and analytics solutions including contribution to the RFI/RFP- s

- Participate or lead proof of concepts in data management and analytics area, as needed

- Participate in the evaluation, rationalization, and modernization of data management and analytics portfolios

- Work with Honeywell SBG & Functional groups to define high-level master data requirements and develop the data architecture and roadmaps, and recommend comprehensive solutions based on industry best practices and Honeywell Enterprise IT Strategy

- Identify and evaluate opportunities for continuous improvement of data quality, processes and standards

- Support enterprise-wide ERP consolidation initiatives with master data solutions & processes

- Collaborates with other architects and technology leaders across the organization to embrace best practices and continuously improve data management and analytics capabilities at Honeywell

- Assess the enterprise requirements, understand the current state of data integration challenges, and drive global data integration strategies to address cloud-to-cloud, cloud-to-on premise, on premise to on premise, etc.

- Maintain knowledge of current and emerging technologies/products/trends related to data management and analytics

Knowledge and Skills:

- Strong leadership skills

- Basic knowledge of financial analysis to estimate financial impact of data architecture alternatives and business case development

- Architecture working knowledge of big data, cloud, and internet of things (IoT)

- Knowledge of industry best practice process and frameworks such as DAMA-DMBOK, UML, ITIL, PMBOK, and TOGAF 9

- Core Competencies - Ethics and values, action oriented, customer focus, adaptability, listening, and integrity and trust

- Functional competencies - Business acumen, decision quality, informing, negotiating, and strategic agility

Education and Experience :

- Bachelor's degree in engineering, information technology, or computer science

- TDWI's certifications such as Certified Business Intelligence Professional (CBIP) or any other relevant business analytics certifications

- At least 10 years of experience in data management and analytics architecture

- At least 15 years of experience in IT

- At least 5 years of experience leading data architecture in a large, federated, and multinational business model

- At least 5 years of data modeling (both relational and dimensional) experience

- At least 5 years of experience leading implementations of complex business intelligence and data warehousing solutions in a large enterprise

- At least 3 years of experience presenting data architecture topics to business and technology stakeholders

- At least 3 years of data integration technologies experience - ETL, data federation, data virtualization, and change data capture

- Experience establishing data governance structures and help facilitate it on an ongoing basis

- Experience with data management and analytics architecture - master data management, data quality,data integration, metadata management, enterprise data model, business intelligence, analysis, & reporting, diagnostic and predictive analytics, data virtualization, and change data capture

- Knowledge of basics of data (including big data) security

- Experience with enterprise-level MDM tools, including Informatica implementations

- Knowledge of ERP practices, concepts and software, SAP preferred

- Familiarity with SAP BW, SAP HANA, SAP Business Objects, Tableau, Hortonworks Hadoop & components
