This opening is for one of the leading Pharmaceutical industry based in Ghana,West Africa having presence in whole Africa,China & India

Job Details:

Position Title: Country Manager

Reports to: CMD, CEO, COO

Department: Operations

Note: Candidates who are having experience of West African Market will be preferred.

Job Purpose:

- The main purpose of this position is to plan, direct, and profitably manage the business operations of all the Operating Units in the country in an efficient and effective manner in order to deliver the planned sales & profits of the Operating Units in a controlled & sustainable manner.

Key area of responsibilities include but are not limited to the following activities:

- Responsible as the profit center head of all activities of Shalina Healthcare across all Operating Units (and sub-Operating Units) within the country.

- Take responsibility for the full spectrum of the business that includes financial management, sales & marketing, operations, human resources, administration and supply chain.

- Coordinate with the Senior Management Team at the HQ and other departments across the organization, as required, to devise and implement key business strategies.

- Oversee preparation for approval of the annual budgets and strategic business plans.

- Ensure timely submission of accurate financial statements and various management reports to the HQ.

- Execute all aspects of sales and marketing activities, such as brand management, positioning, pricing, communications, & marketing promotion.

- Drive the HR initiatives of recruiting, motivating, evaluating performance, training, and retaining high-performing individuals.Develop the organizational structure while clearly outlining responsibilities and accountabilities for the team members.

- Direct the local supply chain team to manage and control all activities and processes related to logistics, container imports & customs clearance, local warehousing and internal freight etc.

- Build an excellent working relationship with the Ministry of Health and various other local government authorities for the smooth functioning of the business.

- Also responsible for liaising with the government on behalf of the Group’s mining business related to administrative, technical, legal and property related activities in collaboration with the CMD.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

- Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy / Life Sciences with a Post-Graduate Diploma or MBA in Marketing/Finance.

- Minimum Experience: Proven track record with a minimum of 12 years’ experience in either a Pharmaceutical and/or FMCG environment in a leadership position having managed regional / country-wide operations independently. At least 5 year previous work experience in Africa is an advantage.

- Job Specific Skills: Ability to work under pressure and excellent in multi-tasking. Good written and oral communication skills. Fluency in English essential and French an advantage. PC skills required: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and ERP. Proven ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
