Copperplate Capital LLC is a newly formed investment firm based in Princeton, NJ that invests in US, Europe, and Japan using an endowment style investment approach. The firm invests across asset classes, but primarily in marketable and hedge funds in the first 2-3 years.   The firm is also in the process of setting up a presence in India with a view to managing investments in the domestic market and expects to start operations in the last quarter of 2014. The firm expects to invest across asset classes, but predominantly in marketables (public equity and fixed income) in the first 2-3 years.   Copperplate is looking to recruit a Vice President (Finance/Operations), who will be the first employee of its Indian entity. The India office will be located in Bangalore, and will ultimately have 2-3 other employees (i.e., investment analysts). This is an ideal position for someone who is entrepreneurially-oriented and comfortable handling multiple roles. As part of the founding team in India, the candidate will have the opportunity to grow with the firm. Compensation will not be a constraint, with further upside potential from profit sharing.  Job description:   - Handle responsibility of fund accounting and NAV computations (requires coordination with third party fund administrator)  - Coordinate activities with external service providers including lawyers, fund administrators, tax counsel, banks, brokers, and auditors  - Manage all compliance-related matters with regards to SEBI and RBI   - Manage post-execution trade activities like reconciliations, trade confirmations etc.   Pre-requisites:   - Must be a CA, CS, MBA, or LLB.   - Worked in an audit/accounting/tax/compliance role in one of the Big Four firms for 3-8 years, Or for 3-8 years in a business consulting role with a global consulting firm.   - Should be a self-starter, able to work without supervision, and have a high level of tolerance for ambiguity.   - Very good communication skills given that the job involves coordinating with multiple parties in India and potentially the US.
