We have this position for one of our esteemed client at Pune Location. The following will be the job responsibilities of the desired candidate:

The job holder is expected to lead the Indirect Tax, Commercial & Project Insurance of the Company and would have the following responsibilities:

- Need to have in-depth knowledge on all indirect taxation's, Foreign Trade Policies and procedures. Need to have good knowledge on export oriented unit rules, regulations, benefits.

- Lead the indirect tax (Customs, Central Excise, Service Tax and VAT) compliance's and litigation's of the company with various statutory authorities across all states and appear before the adjudication and appellate authorities.

- Provide the indirect taxation structure/planning for all complex bids to ensure the tax optimization at the pre-bid stage and helps in winning the orders.

- Support the business and commercial team on all indirect tax matters during execution and interacts with the customers and vendors to explain the taxation complexities wherever required.

- Drive all refunds like Terminal Excise duty, Spl Addl Duty, Duty Drawbacks, sales tax etc.

- Responsible for project insurance matters including the claim optimizations

- Responsible for streamlining the various processes to avoid or de-risk the taxation liabilities arising in future.

- Needs to drive the collections of WCT TDS certificates, statutory forms for concessional taxes etc. Responsible for contracting for large Turnkey projects from a contracts administration perspective like bank guarantees, liquidated damages, price reduction clauses, and other quasi judicial process such as arbitration, etc

- Participate in Customer negotiation meetings such a commercial kick off, pre bid meetings and other customer meetings

- Focus on all working capital initiatives like vendor terms negotiation, tax optimization, Customer payment terms negotiation

- Responsible for reduction in contingent liability, service tax deposit, sales tax deposit and WCT TDS.

- Build effective working relationships with COTA Teams, Finance business partnership teams and co-source partner.

- Lead and manage the recruitment, development, reward, recognition and performance of the Commercial and Indirect Tax team

- Refine key performance indicators; measure performance using reports against defined metrics, Service Level Agreements and Statement of Works; initiate and review cost/benefit analysis of activities that may enhance this process.

- Use exception reporting and root cause analysis to identify issues and areas for improvement; liaise with Business Partners and Business Managers to drive improvement.

- Maintain policies and procedures in line with company's established policies for the procure to pay processes; continuously improve process design focusing on simplification, standardization, quality improvement and cost minimization; evaluate best practices with global peers and become best practice sponsor.

- Analyse and control data leading to the close off for the business results to agreed reporting periods.

- Participate in external and internal audits, and ensure timely and qualitative closure of remedial actions.

- Participate in process improvement reviews and projects.

- Report on and resolve non-compliance issues.

- Liaison with ad visors, external audit and tax authorities

Experience / Qualifications:

- Chartered Accountant/ICWA

- Should have at least 14 + years experience in heading Commercial Function of a EPC company, Large Project Company, or in Capital Good Industry

- Should have expert knowledge on all the Indirect Taxation's more specifically to all types of Turnkey projects like deemed exports, SEZ etc

- Excellent communication & Presentation skills
