JOB ROLE : Director - Business Development

Overview :

Climate Connect Limited is an international software and analytics company focused on the future energy ecosystem. Founded by Cambridge University and Indian Institute of Technology alumni, it builds Artificial Intelligence models and analytics software for energy companies. Power sector across the globe is undergoing upheaval driven by the integration of renewable energy, falling cost of power, reforms across the T&D value chain. To address these changes, energy sector must embrace advanced artificial intelligence driven software solutions to fulfill the need for reliability, availability and cost effectiveness of power services. Climate Connect has built unique IP around forecast of prices and renewable generation, load forecasting, and scheduling and algorithmic trading in power markets. It intends to commercialize proven IP by engaging in long term service based contracts with IPPs, utilities and network operators. The Climate Connect team comprises of over 35 highly motivated energy, data sciences and software professionals spread across Delhi, Pune, and Amsterdam.

The Role :

To advance the growth, Climate Connect has a senior level position for a top notch - intrapreneurial professional interested in building career around the application of forecasting and optimization software in power sector in India. The Director shall proactively scout for opportunities for deploying forecasting and optimization solutions in the Indian power markets. The Director shall meet solar IPPs, utilities, network operators, storage firms, and other stakeholders impacted by changes in the grid to structure proof of concept pilots, and take ownership of award of contract and service delivery. He shall be the interface between Director level management in customers and Climate Connect team. The Director shall devise strategies for driving sales growth across power businesses with electricity distribution companies. Further, the Director shall be working with the marketing team to devise marketing materials and tools to support new business initiatives.

This role builds on first of its kind real time forecasting, scheduling and trading systems built by Climate Connect's team in India and Europe. The role is fit for someone who is looking to grow his or her career quickly, has established a network with utilities in India and has got a flair for working on early stages of a product/service intervention, often in an unstructured environment.

Experience: At least 15 years experience in Indian power sector.

Nationality: Indian nationals

Location: New Delhi, India

Required:

Existing network with senior level staff in IPPs, utilities, network operator, and industrials.

Proven experience of closing multi-year deals with utilities over year long sales cycles.

Proven ability to maintain commercial focus while navigating relationships in large government organizations.

Proven experience of working in a multi cultural workplace.

Must be willing to work in a growth mode small company environment.

Ready to travel extensively, often at short notices.

Natural leader.

Desirable:

Exposure in selling data driven consulting services or software products in power sector.

Experience in handling Profit & Loss books for a vertical.

Previous experience working in a senior management role for an automation / consulting company.

Annual remuneration : Budgeted range for this position is Rs.15 Lakhs - 30 lakhs base depending on experience, abilities, and network. There will be an additional uncapped revenue linked bonus as per company policy.

Reporting: Directly to the Board of the company
