Cigniti Technologies - Director - Testing

THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY:

- Candidates for this position will have extensive experience in software testing, development and quality assurance with demonstrated ability to lead teams in multiple geographies. This leader will lead and participate in developing/improving new and existing development processes and will work with cross-functional groups.

Responsibilities include:

- Provide leadership and direction for software quality assurance (SQA) personnel to provide support on all software engineering developments

- Establish and improve the reliability and test organization which will define, train, enforce and execute standards and compliance, results-based key performance indicators (KPI- s), root cause analysis and defect prevention techniques, testing tool standards and reports, and QA knowledge management and training.

- Develops proposals for projects to improve reliability, product quality and developmental cycle time and supports continuous improvements to ensure that customer needs/requirements are adequately translated into product requirements.

- Collaborates with hardware and software development engineering teams to ensure the right level of proactive focus is occurring to design for manufacturability, testing and reliability.

- Has a comprehensive knowledge base in his or her technical field and continually augments the team's experiences and skills with the latest training, technologies, and techniques.

- Creates a Testing Architecture discipline and resources to lead test strategy development for enterprise and complex systems, defines test environment and test data requirements, and develops and executes a global reliability and test strategy.

- Builds and migrates towards a Functional Testing Centers of Excellence which facilitates and provides adherence to a consistent testing model, a shared pool of both dedicated and flex testing resources.

- Ensures that appropriate hardware and software verification and validation testing or other techniques are being executed to ensure functional and non-functional requirements are addressed.

- Collaborates to establish release criteria with hardware and software engineering development leaders and teams.

- Supports optimization of new and current designs for improved reliability through analysis of field issues and design changes as necessary.

- Leads, drives and implements proactive actions and events (ex: Quality Polices, Quality Plans, Quality Kaizen events, Quality audits, etc.) to identify and implement opportunities for quality and consistency improvement in products and processes.

- Deliver high quality products in a predictable manner.

- Oversee Performance, Scalability, Reliability teams and assure all products meet established targets.

- Development of a three-year quality strategy to help drive excellence across all products and the overall platform and ensure the organization can move with the business strategies and changes.

- Evangelize QA and be highly visible as the champion of QA to both internal and external clients.

- Demonstrated experience with Agile methodologies and supporting techniques.

- Experience with software automation tools.

- Must be a high-energy leader able to delegate and mentor effectively, yet roll up their sleeves when required to achieve results and/or demonstrate effective behavior.

- Identify bottlenecks and pain points and directs efforts to address the challenges in a data-driven manner

BACKGROUND PROFILE:

- Strong Leadership experience - 5 years of Global leadership experience (direct & indirect) of over 100 resources (full time and contract)

- Good understanding and experience with various software related industry standards.

- BS/MS Degree in Engineering - Computer Science preferred.

- 15-20 years of software development and software quality assurance experience.
