Position: CTO - Chief Technology Officer

The person has to be the single point of authority on technology when it comes to digital. This role involves leading implementation of digital properties (web and mobile) and planning for risk and growth.

Responsibilities:

- Evaluate technology platforms: that are best suited for the client needs. The platforms might span across commercial to open source

- Be on top of technology trends to ensure Indigo has the cutting edge advantage when it comes to digital

- Participate in pitches and help put technology case forward

- Seek and maintain professional relationships with partners and outsourcing vendors

- Supervise training and recruitment of technology team

- Setup and enhance internal development and deployment processes

- Take informed decisions on whether to build it in-house or outsource

- Very well versed with infrastructure and technical architecture of web and mobile applications

- Ensure best practices for coding, documentation and testing are followed

- Help the team with R&D when it comes to new tools, APIs or technologies

Requirements:

- Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related discipline

- 9+ years of experience in technology roles with at least 2 years experience in VP Technology or CTO or Head of Technology

- Ability to understand requirements and translate them into solutions

- Hands on experience with technical development at some point in career

- Well versed with web standards, and front end technologies

- Experience having led complex web application projects from start to end

- Hands on experience developing responsive web applications

- Extensive experience working with open source CMS solutions like Drupal, WordPress and Joomla as well as Enterprise Web Content Management systems like Adobe CQ5 and HP Teamsite/Livesite

- Experience with eCommerce solutions like Drupal +Ubercart or Magento

- Solid understanding of web applications and web architecture

- Extensive experience working with web technologies and databases: ASP .NET, Java, C#, MySQL, MS SQL Server, NoSQL

- Expertise in designing multi-tiered web applications

- Good understanding of how to design applications that perform well and are secure

- Experience leading and guiding software testing team

- Sharp, focused with attention to detail

- Proven leadership abilities

- Good to have exposure or experience working with Amazon Web Services
