Job Title - Chief Operating Officer

Reporting To - CEO

Reportee(s) - Head of Operations, Utility, Admn, General Purchase, Production, Warehouse, Quality, PPC & SCM functions.

Primary Responsibilities - To work as a Unit Head handling primarily Operations, Production & Maintenance functions.

Job Purpose

Overall responsible for planning and execution of orders, with effective utilization of man, machine, money in plant. Responsible for entire plant-system comprising of various plants located in Haryana and other locations in Punjab and elsewhere in terms of production, maintenance and uninterrupted operations leading to meeting company’s goals and objectives. Also, provide services in Operations (Utility, Civil, Mechanical Engineering, Production & Quality Assurance)/PPC/Warehouse/Logistics/System & Audit. Responsible for entire project cycle to include design, development, and project completion with the help of consultants/contractors.

Principal Accountabilities

1. Managing to achieve production from the network of plants covering all aspects comprising planning, arranging for inputs & materials and seeking support and assistance in order to produce desired results.

2. Managing to maintain the plant and machinery in such a way that the system supports the production without interruptions.

3. Ensuring better and consistent output from power generating units and other utilities.

4. Ensuring better warehousing system/space management and pest control of ware house.

5. Projects/ New ideas: Conceiving new projects /initiating new ideas.

6. Establishing and directing plant policies and procedures after due consultations.

7. Operating Staff

8. Reviewing cost of operations and bringing them in line with generally accepted norms or industry level benchmarks.

9. Confer with department heads to ensure coordination of purchasing and shipping and allied services.

10. Daily conferring /reporting & discussions on the plant performance and other issues concerning company’s growth plans.

11. Periodic reports on the performance of plant in terms of various parameters which have bearing on company’s growth and profits.

12. Is responsible, to implement & maintain, Quality Management System, Food Safety Management System & BRC requirements within department.

Background Experience / Qualification / Knowledge / Skills

Preferable -

1. Sound Knowledge of managing rice plants covering all aspects relating to engineering and management. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of operation of industrial boilers and power generation equipments, and dryers is essential. Ability to analyze the data/information and quick response thereto. Manage operating staff towards achieving production targets. This is normally acquired through a combination of the completion of a Degree in Engineering & M.B.A. from reputed institutions with minimum 15 years of relevant experience.

2. Work requires willingness to work on a flexible schedule and touring.

Preferred background - Experience in Chemicals, Sugar, FMCG, Pharma Industry

Relationship -

Internal - Unit Heads/HO/ALL HOD’S

External - Vendors/ TPI/ Auditors/Customers/other Plant.
