Job responsibilities:

Key Objective / Overall Job Responsibility:

- Conceptualize & review implementation of HRM strategy for BU and drive organization transformation, knowledge management and process development initiatives to keep the BU in shape for meeting business challenges

- Manage performance, pay and rewards at the BU and review talent sourcing needs to develop the manpower plan and budget of the BU

- Manage a high performance work culture and development of talent within the BU to ensure that there is adequate supply of future business leaders (bench strength) within the BU

- Ensure harmonious industrial and employee relations at the BU leading to uninterrupted business operations through compliance to all ER related statutory and legal requirements

- External stakeholder management to gain their support (critical stakeholders: villagers, local political leaders/ opinion makers and legislative / government bodies etc.) to ensure uninterrupted operations

- Management of human resources of the department to have an engaged, competent team and enable a working environment that drives high performance

Major Tasks & Responsibilities:

- Create and implement BU level HRM strategy and plan

- Monitor communication of details and impact of the EVP and HR business plan to employees across levels

- Drive process improvement initiatives, implement new HRM practices and ensure capability improvement initiatives across the BU

- Institute mechanisms to facilitate cross team sharing of best practices and lessons learned and lead knowledge management initiatives

- Analyse BU performance reports and survey results and conduct formal & informal feedbacks with the concerned parties

Finalize and assign special projects & monitor its implementation:

- Prepare and allocate the BU HRM annual budget

- Decide on manpower plan and budget for approval by the VP HRM

- Review and track the talent sourcing plan at BU level (including manpower needs identification of the various divisions with specifications like nature of talent, timelines etc.)

- Provide expert advice and recruitment support for hiring of top management employees at BU

- Facilitate and supervise the performance management and rewards process at BU

- Provide coaching/ guidance on performance counselling to top management

- All-important HRM issues to be consulted and should be informed of all major decision making e.g. Performance Management, Talent development, Talent sourcing, contract labour management, statutory compliances, System and process design w.r.t HRM processes and policies etc.

- Plan and develop resource integration strategy for seamless execution of the HRM strategy and policies

- Finalise and monitor implementation of the BU level talent development plan

- Responsible for all decisions to ensure execution of talent development activities/ initiatives at the BU as per plan

- Collaborate with the IR Group to help formulate IR policies and remain updated on the IR polices being recommended and implemented.

- Review authority for implementation of IR activities at plants

- Collaborate with Central Union bodies

- Attain accord with local villagers, local political leaders/ opinion makers,

- Manage external stakeholders for new units set-up (government/labour authorities and other interested parties)

- Frequent interactions with key role holders in ER statutory bodies

- Performance management of direct reportees

- Ensure that necessary training & development, mentoring & coaching initiatives are taking place in the department

- Career development and succession planning
