Position Summary:

Key role is in planning, organizing, directing and controlling the operations of the Finance and Accounting functions for the company. Specifically, the position is responsible for:

- Ensuring proper internal controls

- Consolidating monthly financial results

- Initiating and implementing financial improvements in the business through more robust financial measurement

- Representing the company before relevant government entities.

- Acts as overall coordinator and first-line adviser to the Board on all finance-related matters.

- Directs a team of professionals through a structured financial organisation.

- Appraises the corporation's financial position and directs the establishment of corporate budget programs.

- Directs analysis of general economic, business and financial conditions and their impact on the corporation's policies and operations.

Major Responsibilities:

- Assist and consult with top management in business planning and advise on key financial issues affecting the organizations - operations and profitability.

- Manage accounting function and ensure financial reports are consolidated on a monthly basis according to local financial reporting requirements. Ensure that corporate accounting policies and procedures are followed, and the integrity of accounting records is maintained.

- Oversee all transactions related to general ledger, receivables, payables, inventory and payroll. Improve accounting operations to better identify and track financial performances. Identify operational improvements which will enhance profitability and minimize risks.

- Work with business unit leaders to develop group level reports on revenue, margin and costs. Analyze financial results with respect to profits, trends, costs and compliance with budgets. Recommend improvement based on analysis.

- Ensures efficient management of payable and receivable balances, cash, banking and all issues relating to working capital.

- Drive business improvement by examining pricing models and segmentation accounting. Use these tools to ensure appropriate front-end margins are maintained and to align structural costs with business performance.

- Ensure that proper inventory records are maintained and reconciled on regular basis and monitor the inventories ageing

- Managing the claims receivables and meeting vendor /business expectations on this.

- Process improvements and develop & establish sound business practices /controls in operations

- Reviews capital expenditure proposals and makes recommendations as to their viability

- Manage and complete the various audits during the year within defined timelines

- Improve quality of financial staff and develop their knowledge to keep pace with increasing demands of reporting.

Qualification:

- A CA qualification plus minimum of 10- 15 years practical experience in finance functions of which atleast 5 years as a functional head. Validated expertise in all financial and related fields.

- Sound and complete knowledge of India accounting practices

- Experience of interacting with external organizations (e.g., banks, tax authorities) and in working with internal business partners to improve the business.

- Full understanding of multi - dimensional information systems concepts

- Excellent leadership abilities, drive and integrity and strong interpersonal and communication skills.

- Financial planning experience preferred.

- India tax knowledge is a requisite.
