JOB DESCRIPTION - CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER  ORGANIZATION  Jayn Knowledgeum, a new venture to set up K-12 schools through franchise/ strategic partnership route promoted by JGI Group.  BACKGROUND ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION  Founded as an educational institution group in the early 1990s, JGI Group today has over 85 educational institutions with 60,000 students, and is committed to human development at all levels through education and entrepreneurship.  The group is now planning to increase its schools footprint (currently 28 K-12 schools) by adopting an asset-light model of expansion. In the next five years, JGI Group looks to add about 70 - 75 new schools spread across 6-7 states. The group has formed a new venture, Jayn Knowledgeum, to set up these K-12 schools through franchise/ strategic partnership route.  Jayn Knowledgeum is an independent SBU that would launch new brand(s) of K-12 schools in the market. It will leverage the best practices of the existing network of schools and draw upon JGI's culture and values. It will offer a varied set of services to franchise/ strategic partners such as school set-up assistance, curriculum and pedagogy support, teacher training and professional development support, technology solution for school administration, assistance in recruitment of principal and senior teachers, and assistance in other areas of school operations.  It also plans to forge strategic collaborations in areas of curriculum/ pedagogy and technology to offer its partners, academic solution embedded in research to facilitate student learning and technology support system to enable effective school administration.  Jayn Knowledgeum would focus to forge, sustain and grow partnerships by offering product/ service offerings that bring real value to the partners.  POSITION - Chief Executive Officer  REPORTING TO - Leadership Board  TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT - Full Time  LOCATION - Bangalore  POSITION DESCRIPTION - IN BRIEF  The Chief Executive Officer would lead the Jayn Knowledgeum to set up K-12 school through franchise/ strategic partnership route and would be responsible for:  - strategic planning for the growth of the business  - building organizational leadership and capabilities  - building strong brand(s) in the market  - identification and onboarding of franchise partners and collaboration partners  - rollout of product/ services offerings  ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  - Value Proposition and Branding  Build upon the vision, mission, goal and value proposition of the new entity through discussions with the academic director and the promoters  Undertake various brand building measures to increase brand awareness and build desired positioning in the market  - Strategic Planning  Work with JGI management to give inputs on priority areas while drawing up long term and annual strategic plan for the group's expansion  Apprise the JGI management on latest developments in the market and provide strategic inputs for group's growth  Oversee budgeting and fiscal affairs, design marketing strategy/plan and oversee execution of the same  Report progress to the promoters on an ongoing basis  - Organizational leadership  Play a pivotal role in leading the institution by modeling integrity, vision and ethical behavior  Provide inputs based on experience to refine the organization structure of the new entity that can ensure achievement of institutional goals and facilitates effective decision making processes  Recruit key personnel to head various functions such as business development, school set up, operations support, academics, marketing, and so on - in consultation with the promoters  - Product Development  Crystalize product offering(s) to be taken to the market in consultation with the academic director and the promoters  Evaluate and finalize external partner(s) for academic solution development and technology support in consultation with academic director and promoters  Develop the product development roadmap in consultation with academic director.  Oversee development of standardized processes for school set-up and school operations  Ensure timely rollout of the product/ services  - Business Development  Develop a plan to source leads and work closely with the Business Development team to execute the same  Oversee identification, evaluation and finalization of strategic partners across locations identified by the promoters  Set business targets in consultation with the promoters and drive efforts for achievement of the same  - Product/ Services roll- out  Oversee on time set up of schools by the projects team  Design a quality assurance mechanism and monitor and review the status of partner operations rollout  Design mechanism to capture feedback from strategic partners and ensure use of the same to improve service delivery standards  QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS  Essential:  - 10 - 15 years of proven experience in the field of K-12 education/preschool/vocational training/ BFSI with at least seven years of functional leadership experience (CEO, COO, Marketing Head/ Strategy Head/ Business Development Head/ other key positions)  - Led business with a B2B brand and B2C impact  - Experience of setting up a new business unit from scratch - building a new team, launch of new product/service offering, identification and onboarding of new business partners  - Built/managed operations across multiple states  - Led a large team managing operations across multiple states across the country  - Sound understanding of academic quality assurance and enhancement issues  - Excellent communication skills - both written and oral  - A commitment to collaboration and shared leadership  - Problem solving skills with an ability to lead a team and align them towards a common goal  Desirable:  - Post-graduate in preferably Management/ Education  - Experience in setting up a business through franchising in education/ training space
