Chief Architect - IT (10-16 yrs)

CRITICAL BUSINESS ACTIVITIES

- Lead the architectural activities for multiple product and platform teams to create, maintain, and enhance diverse software systems supporting online financial services portfolios.

- Serve as key member of senior staff providing technical and managerial input to the leadership group.

- Actively develop and maintain the technology road map to support the product road map.

- Manage technical debt actively through design and technology adoption as required by the roadmap.

- Design solutions within the context of the available infrastructure, taking into account scalability, availability, reliability, stability, security and performance.

- Research, review, analyse and recommend technical frameworks, standards, architectures and governance for existing and new processes that solves business cases and develop implementation plans.

- Direct and mentor architects and technical leads and perform hands-on support as necessary to ensure success of the deliverables.

COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Skills and Experience

- Bachelors/ Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical degree.

10+ YEARS OF WORK EXPERIENCE WITH 6+ YEARS HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE IN ARCHITECTING, DESIGNING, POSITION SUMMARY

The Chief Architect is an exciting technical leadership position that is responsible for providing vision, developing technical strategies, architecture and supporting the development of solutions across all product portfolios. This position is to help engineering and product teams to architect and deliver high-quality, innovative, scalable, high performing customer focused applications and services. This position entails successfully working with a cross-functional team including business stakeholders and product management.

- Developing and implementing complex systems and technical architectures.

- Strong command of architectural patterns, reusable frameworks, best practices and standards related to application development, network design, database design, security and testing.

- Deep experience programming with one or more languages such as C, C++, JAVA, Python, Perl.

- Data design and scaling experience with one or more databases such as MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSql.

- Broad and deep technology experience to include web and cloud services, RESTful APIs, microservices.

- Experience in implementing solutions for traditional, virtualized environments, and for use in AWS.

- Experience with BigData management tools like HBase, Spark, Cassandra, ZooKeeper is a plus.

- Experience in developing systems in Fin-Tech domain and supporting multiple tenancy is a plus.

Shape opinions and build confidence in the teams while facilitating new tool and technology evaluations and introducing new processes and practices.

- Judgement: Be able to manage risk identification and risk mitigation strategies associated with the architecture and make sound decisions with limited and incomplete data.
