The key responsibilities are as follows:  Prepare the Institute's yearly operational and capital budgets, monitor them, conduct variance analysis, initiate and track corrective actions  Develop pricing structure for various services and ensure effective implementation of full cost recovery through the pricing mechanism  Oversee and provide accurate and timely information to the management for decision-making purposes, including monthly and quarterly updates on financials, staff time utilization and other reports supporting decision making  Manage the entire grants portfolio throughout its active life cycle and ensure timely & accurate reporting of donor reports, compliance with donor requirements; develop appropriate tracking system for donor reporting  Review donor amendments, budget changes and no cost extension agreements from financial standpoint  Lead the analysis and reporting of expenses on full cost recovery and regular review of the same; suggest and implement improvements  Support scientists and Directors in preparation of budget proposals for funding  Assist in implementing improved internal controls and audit recommendations by developing and updating policies, manuals and checklists  Assist the CFO in coordinating Institute-wide risk assessment frameworks at regular intervals, and any other responsibilities assigned from time to time  Liaise with Head of Accounts and other colleagues in improving efficiency and effectiveness of the finance department  Required Skills & Abilities:  Outstanding service approach and service management; very good personal organization and priority setting  The candidate should have high integrity and able to exercise sound judgment  Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.  Ability to effectively interact with a wide range of staff at all levels in a multicultural and multidisciplinary environment.  Required Qualifications & Experience:  MBA/ Chartered accountant, and proven expertise in handling finance functions for more than 10 years  Fully conversant with computerized financial accounting and management reporting systems with 10 years of experience in a large organization, of which the last 5 years should have been in a supervisory or managerial position  S/he should essentially be a good communicator and a team player, resilient and capable of supervising and leading a team of finance staff, to the success of the Institute's mandate  The Reward:  ICRISAT offers an attractive compensation package. This is a Scientific and Managerial Group (SMG) position.
