Organization Introduction

Prathama Blood Bank was set up in the year 2000 in Ahmedabad. Since inception, it has pioneered the practice of componentization of blood and collection through voluntary blood donation. With an average annual collection of 45,000 blood units, Prathama Blood Bank has remained the largest blood bank in Gujarat for most part of the last decade.

The Board of ATMRF (Advanced Transfusion Medicine Research Foundation) has decided to induct a new management at the Blood Centre in order to bring in fresh talent and re-energize operations, as the Blood Centre plans to unfold its next phase of development after a highly successful spell of 14 years in Gujarat.

Ideal Candidate

Have one or more of the following:

- 5-8 years of experience as a Senior Management Executive or in Public Health Domain

- Prior experience in the domain of health such as hospital management, blood bank, transfusion centre, diagnostic centre, dispensary or medical chain is strongly preferred

Responsibilities:

- Develop Prathama's strategy in conjunction with the Board

- Oversee the implementation of Prathama's short and long term plans in accordance with its strategy (overall responsibility for end-to-end supply chain from spreading awareness to product distribution)

- Ensure appropriate staffing in terms of number and quality of resources for smooth operations

- Ensure effective internal controls and reporting mechanisms are in place to monitor fulfilment of assigned targets

- Anticipate and monitor principal risks of the blood bank and develop mitigation plan

- Ensure 100% compliance with regulatory policies

- Build and maintain a cordial work environment within the organization

- Effectively communicate with all external stakeholders (donors, recipients, hospitals, regulatory bodies, blood banks, and academic institutions) to build sustainable relationships

- Plan and execute campaigns to raise funds for Thalassemia patients and below poverty line patients

- Act with integrity and bring transparency through full and timely information sharing with the Board as well as Regulatory Authorities

- Full support from the Board of Directors to achieve the stated goal of once again becoming India's best run blood bank

- Existing state-of-the-art infrastructure

- Manpower strength of 85-90 employees
