Summary
- Provide leadership to position the company at the forefront of the industry. Develop a strategic plan to advance the company's mission and objectives and to promote revenue, profitability and growth as an organization.
- Oversee company operations to insure production efficiency, quality, service, and cost-effective management of resources.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop a strategic plan to advance the company's mission and objectives and to promote revenue, profitability, and growth as an organization.
- Oversee company operations to insure production efficiency, quality, service, and cost-effective management of resources.
- Plan, develop, and implement strategies for generating resources and/or revenues for the company.
- Identify acquisition and merger opportunities and direct implementation activities.
- Approve company operational procedures, policies, and standards.
- Review activity reports and financial statements to determine progress and status in attaining objectives and revise objectives and plans in accordance with current conditions.
- Evaluate performance of executives for compliance with established policies and objectives of the company and contributions in attaining objectives.
- Promote the company through written articles and personal appearances at conferences and in different media channels
- Promote the company to local, regional, national, and international markets.
- Oversee foreign operations to include evaluating operating and financial performance.
- Take the business to the next phase of growth by exploring and developing new markets and Customers
- Augment the current capacities in the organization viz manufacturing , sourcing etc to meet the new business
- Study and understand the new trends in the fashion industry globally and incorporate the relevant in the portfolio
- Develop ongoing relationship with the customers, vendors and other partners
- As Business Head drive efficiencies from the operations
- Lead a diverse team of Fashion industry professionals.
Other Responsibilities
- Promote the company to the leading Fashion Brands in the market
- Negotiate buying terms with vendors (price, quantity, delivery terms, and markdowns)
- Manage inventory levels with input from merchandise planning team
- Present new category recommendations regularly to Merchandising Manager (financials, reasoning/trends and future plans)
- Develop vendor financial plans (profitability targets, mark-up and receipt flow)
- Keep abreast of industry trends and new product ideas
- Build strong relationships with vendors
- Forecasting business projections & trends, formulating result oriented plans, setting and ensuring adherence to budgets/ objectives.
- Analyse the performance of the launched products/ events and formulate future business strategy accordingly.
Desired Candidate Profile
Education: An engineer with MBA from IIM
Experience
- 15-18 years, out of which 10-12 years in the Lifestyle, preferably fashion Business
- Excellent presentation, communication skills, interpersonal skills and negotiation skills
- Capable of handling key responsibilities
- Capable of leading and working together in a team
- Good grasp of the fundamentals of business
- Ability to establish and maintain collaborative partnerships and provide thought leadership
- Thorough knowledge of European fashion market and proven relationship with customer base
- Should have thorough exposure of working in Fashion Industry preferably in various geographies like China, Indian sub continent, Europe
- Flair for Customer centricity
- Strong market orientation
- Sound exposure of latest and lean manufacturing systems
- Techno-Commercial acumen
