Job Roles and Responsibilities:

Role

- Provide Leadership and directions to Team leads and the process teams.

- Interact with the transition team and understand the “As Is” and “To Be” process.

- Should be willing to work in shifts and flexible work hours as per organisational requirements

Responsibilities
a) Responsible for managing the daily processing for all Shareholder Transactions. Primary functions include Purchases, Redemptions, Exchanges, Systematic Plans, brokerage & Dividend.

b) Ensure the daily, accurate processing of all shareholder requests, both financial and non-commercial received for processing. Co-ordinate for any exceptions to be resolved.

c) Support processing of special transactions where there are dual tax implications. Ensure all rules and guidelines related to foreign investments into the funds of the company are fully complied with

d) Actively manage and reduce the error rate for transactions processed on a daily basis. Review and where necessary enhance the operational processes to increase efficiency of the central processing.

e) Work closely with Fund Accounting to provide timely and accurate data for computation of Daily Net Asset Values.

f) Work closely with the auditors to institute appropriate process controls to ensure transactions are processed within prescribed norms.

g) Work closely with the Funding and Cash Management teams for dividend payments, collections, redemptions funding. Provide input on banking arrangements

h) Ensure consistent and timely communication with employees of key information. Recruit, train, motivate and manage employees within the Central Operations unit of the company. Focus on employee development including career planning, succession planning, training, personal development and empowerment

i) Manage the daily operating metrics of the Operations unit including cost per account, productivity, headcount, error rates and other key metrics of the Operations Unit.

j) Decide and agree ongoing performance targets and manage the operations to meet them.

k) Ensure the systems requirements of the unit are captured, documented and communicated to the systems support teams.

l) Co-ordinate with legal and compliance to ensure transactions are within the prescribed local regulator regulations and guidelines. Provide reports as required by the compliance department

m) Manage the service delivery to Sales and Customer Service as per the Service Level Agreement for the Operations unit.

n) Enhance the SLA as required with feedback from Sales and Customer Service, and based on market conditions.

o) Ensure that Investor complaints and queries are resolved in a speedy manner to enhance customer satisfaction where these relate to the Operations of the company.

Qualification:

- At least 7-8 years of experience in Capital markets working in broking houses (settlement, data management, margining areas), Registrars/Transfer agents, custodians, Asset Managing companies

- Domain skills in the various asset classes including Equity, Debt, liquid & FOF (Fund of Funds)

- Should have knowledge of Mutual fund industry and the role of the various intermediaries

- The candidate should have worked in Operations or service department of AMC, responsible for reporting to statutory authorities,

- Should have handled a team and managed SLA’s

- Knowledge of Corporate actions

- Prior working in BPO’s on capital markets back office processes

- Preferable if the candidate has prior Knowledge of SEC regulations in the Mutual fund industry.

- Experience and expertise in Business Areas - Middle Office Processing, Custody and Asset Services (TA).

- Bachelors degree (preferably Commerce, Economics,)/ MBA (Finance)

Skills

- Ability to manage the team and adhere to strict timelines.

- Has eye for details and identify areas prone to frauds and implement necessary controls.

- Capability to detect errors at the various stages in the processes and provide timely solutions to the team

- Good communication / Domain skills. Good understanding of end to end Trade Life cycle

- Experience in Microsoft Suite including MS Visio

- Ability to interact with clients effectively and manage SLA’s

- Excellent inter personnel skills

- Mentoring junior staff with regular monitoring and key inputs.
