Job Overview  This position is responsible for managing activities associated with the payroll function.  Key Responsibilities  Manage activities of payroll team to ensure that payroll preparation activities are performed accurately and on a timely basis  Provide payroll information by answering questions and requests from employees  Remain current on, and ensure compliance with, all government regulations  Resolve issues that have been escalated  Review final payroll reports, monthly general ledger journal entries, payroll bank wire transfers, direct deposits, and taxes  Work with SAP HR team on updates and changes to SAP time and Payroll interface  Collaborate with other departments for any system changes  Typical Role Definition :   Managerial Staff Manages a department within the company. Fully accountable for meeting the operating objectives of the department. Develops proposed budgets for approval and manages budget once approved. Develops others by encouraging accountability and enforcing performance standards. Makes selection, termination, and compensation decisions. Makes tactical decisions that directly affect own workgroup and indirectly affect the organization. Resolves complex problems that arise in everyday work, and escalates more complex problems. Develops and implements policies and procedures for the department to meet specific goals and objectives of the function; modifies goals in response to functional changes. Analyzes and challenges current working methods to create improvements in processes and results. Planning time horizon is short.  Bachelor's/PG Degree or global equivalent in Accounting or Finance.  Work Experience  Typically 8 or more years of Payroll experience with at least 1 or more years of supervisory experience.  Skills & Competencies:  Strong analytical skills.  Excellent communication skills.  Organizational and time management skills in managing multiple, diverse and conflicting priorities.  Problem-solving skills.  Perform effectively under pressure.  Proficient in Microsoft Office, focusing on Microsoft Excel.  Broad understanding of Payroll related issues.  Experience in Payroll accounting and compliance practices.  Knowledge of taxing regulations.
