Business Head - Crop/Weather & Price Intelligence

Our client specializes in Crop, Weather & Price Intelligence providing real-time weather intelligence service across industry. This position offers P & L responsibility of the business unit including operations, sales and BD, finance, logistics and various alliances.

Work Location: Hyderabad

Salary: Absolutely Not a Constraint and best in the Industry

No of Years of Exp: 10- 12 Years

Education: Graduate in Engineering preferably in Electronics/Instrumentation OR Post graduate in Argo-Meteorology/ Meteorology/Satellite Meteorology and Weather Informatics/GeoInformatics and Natural Resources Planning/ OR Any other allied subjects

Key Responsibilities:

- Annual Business Target

- Manage Business and Operational Aspects of the Core Products:

- Supply of Near Real-Time weather data to insurance companies/state governments for implementation of flagship insurance schemes PMFBY and WBCIS;

- Conducting and Monitoring Crop Cutting Experiments for Yield Estimation for a season

- Supply of Historic hourly data

- Preparation and supply of Isotherm, Isobar, Isohyets Maps

- Identify and Build teams to create weather and crop based Value Added Products: viz.,

- Yield estimations using remote-sensing and other methods

- Weather and Crop based risk matrices for use of insurance and re-insurance companies

- Real time Argo advisories to farmers

- Weather and Crop based pest-disease forecast

- Active portal which is a one stop weather-Crop resource

Technical Skills:-

- Identify and build capacities either within or in conjunction with reputed and capable technology manufacturers for ensuring seamless back end supply of weather stations including data loggers and sensors.

- Liase with State agricultural departments, disaster management institutions, department of economics and statistics to build rapport with the highest level of decision making in order to promote Core and Value-Added Services.

- Lead a large team from technical, operational, and quality groups to ensure services and products are delivered to customers as per contract.

- Identifying new business opportunities and developing a better understanding of emerging trends and developments in the weather space

- Monitoring the daily operations effectively and ensuring strict implementation of TAT across processes.
