A leading e-Commerce Giant is looking for a BD Manager for a leadership role to lead one of its Business Unit

Job Description:

Would you like to own managing relationships with the venture capitalist (VC), Accelerators and Incubators (A&I) community, and influencing decision making towards utilizing Amazon Web Services as the basis for their portfolio companies- infrastructure- Do you have the business savvy, the technical insight, and the background necessary to mesh with the startup/VC/A&I ecosystem and to help further establish Amazon as the leader in the cloud computing space-

As a business development manager within Amazon India, you will have the exciting opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to build mind share and broad use of Amazon's cloud computing platform within the startup communities. Your responsibilities will include identifying appropriate VCs/A&Is to target, creating necessary business and technical relationships with the VC/A&Is and their portfolio companies to promote new business in those accounts, and to work closely with the Amazon India team to initiate the day-to-day interactions with the portfolio companies in order to facilitate long-term business opportunities. You- ll also work closely with the AWS marketing teams on activities that tie in to the startup community.

The ideal candidate will possess both a business background that enables them to lead an engagement and interact at the CxO/VP level, as well as a technical background that enables them to easily interact with software developers and architects. He/she should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically and analytically about business, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions, and work cross-organizationally to build consensus. A keen sense of ownership, drive, and scrappiness is a must.

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Serve as a key member of the Business Development team in helping to communicate overall AWS market and technical strategy.

- Identify key VCs/A&Is/Startup Communities with portfolio companies that have infrastructure needs, and drive engagement with them.

- Execute the strategic business development plan while working with key internal stakeholders (e.g.marketing, legal, support, etc.).Work closely with the VCs/A&Is and the portfolio companies to ensure they are successful using Amazon Web Services, making sure they have the technical resources required.

- Mentor startups on their overall technology and business aspects and establish credibility within the startups and investors community

- Market AWS and take up speaking opportunities in startup events and platforms

- Understand and exploit the use of internal Amazon tracking and contact management systems

- Prepare and give business reviews to the senior management team regarding progress and roadblocks to establishing new VC/A&I engagements

- Collate feedback from the startups on AWS market perception and follow-up with the respective stakeholders internally to escalate and mitigate any concerns

- Handle a high volume of engagements and the fast pace of the cloud computing market

Basic Qualifications:

- Experience working within the technology industry is highly desired.

- Experience with and knowledge of the Venture Capital, Accelerators and Incubators community is key

- The right person will be technical and analytical, and possess 7+ years of business development enterprise sales, or program/product management experience.

- Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must, as well as leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations is key.

- Technical degree required; MBA, Computer Science, and/or Engineering/Math background highly desired; working knowledge of software development practices and data center / infrastructure / networking technologies highly desired.

- Experienced with account management (Enterprise, SMB and startup) and solution selling ability

- Some relevant technical knowledge is needed, such as: database systems, core distributed computing concepts, fundamentals of cloud computing and virtualization, storage systems, content delivery networks (CDNs) etc. with ability to go deep enough on technical aspects to differentiate between varied data storage services.
