Business Development Manager - Netapp Solutions/Products (3-12 yrs)

Job Summary:

The Business Development Manager (BDM) is the main interface between Customers and Suppliers. The Customer comprises of Partners and End Customers of Partners. The BDM is responsible for the complete sales cycle with an aim to maximizing revenue, margin, and Customer satisfaction by developing deep relationships with key people in these Customers and Partner accounts.

Principal Responsibilities:

Planning

- Coordinates with the relevant internal teams and the Supplier teams and uncovers sales opportunities while delivering ongoing value to the Customer.

- Builds market position by locating, developing, defining, negotiating and closing business relationships proactively.

- Creates business plans for the vendor product group and associated services.

- Responsible for effective planning, including inventory turns, inventory fulfillment and inventory obsolescence minimization.

- Creates territory plans to focus on achieving the maximum levels of revenue and margin, achieving industry leading partner satisfaction and meeting or exceeding quarterly targets.

- Builds and manages partner vendor relationships.

- With assistance from the Branch Manager/ NPM, the BDM builds and executes a call plan that will ensure maximum returns from the Customers.

- With assistance from the Manager, builds and executes a plan for Account Receivable (AR).

- Develops a solid understanding of the product & Practice Lines range and present an informed overview.

- Positions and sells relevant Practice Line solutions to the Customers.

- Upsell and cross sell each opportunity for maximum margin returns and differentiation.

- Liaise with other departments as required, to ensure efficient.

- Customer transactions that ultimately delivers a superior buying experience for Customers.

Execution

- Identification and On-boarding of new Partners and their enablement.

- Responsible for managing inventory to ensure inventory obsolescence minimization.

- Makes outbound (field) sales calls to the Customers and prospects as per call plan.

- Identifies opportunities in conjunction with internal teams for defined company Practice Lines.

- Provides presales team with all relevant information necessary to build and configures the winning' solution.

- Executes and delivers on all RFQ's jointly with the sales and presales team.

- Ensures Account Receivable for all sales direct and/or indirect are realized.

- Administration

- Achieves and maintains sales certifications for relevant product groups when required

- Accurately forecast business with Manager at defined periodic intervals.

- Participates in all sales and business reviews and provides detailed information as required on the leads, opportunities, cases of Customers.

- Ensures all proposals are submitted using the SAP CRM. Ensures the CRM is updated and used pro-actively to drive business engagements and accurate forecasting.

- Responsible for resolving customer problems, customer escalations, and participate in important negotiation with key customers.

- Works with Sales Support and Sales Operations to provide support where necessary to ensure timely logging in of orders and billing.

- Adhere to companies policies and compliance requirement.

Knowledge and Skills:

- Must have knowledge on Netapp solutions

- Seeks to build high customers satisfaction (internal and external)

- Seeks to satisfy customers

- Business Acumen

- Good Communication skills (Both written and oral)

Experience:

- Candidate must have minimum 3 to 5 years of experience selling IT solutions

- Must have experience in handling Netapp solutions/products or any other competitive storage products

- Must have experience in channel management and Supplier relationship management

Education/Certification:

- University Degree or equivalent

- Appropriate vendor product sales certifications are an added value
