Business Unit Overview :

The US Retail Request for Proposal (- RFP- ) team plays a vital role in the effort to win new business for BlackRock's US Retail businesses and liaises closely with colleagues across sales groups and portfolio management teams to deliver high-quality, consistent and cohesive quantitative and qualitative information to prospective and existing clients.

Job Purpose/Background :

Seeking an energetic professional to work as part of the US Retail RFP team in Mumbai and lead a team of analysts to deliver RFPs/DDQs. The successful candidate will have training, oversight, and quality control responsibility, as well as provide extra writing capacity and act as a backup as needed.

This role presents an excellent opportunity to further develop people management skills, get exposure to different areas of the business and gain a wealth of knowledge about the workings of BlackRock, its position in the market and the products we manage.

The ideal candidate is an experienced professional who has a strong writing and communication skills and experience working in a fast-paced global financial services firm. The candidate should have at least 2 years of management experience.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead and manage a team of analysts by efficiently delegating work and acting as a backup if required.

- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of RFPs including quality oversight/peer reviews.

- Constantly evaluate systems, processes, and procedures for inefficiencies, and make recommendations for improvement.

- Support and complete various efficiency and capacity-building initiatives, including automation/ standardization efforts.

- Identify training, coaching and mentoring needs of team members, and deliver programs to improve results and performance

- Act as a liaison to US RFP manager.

Qualifications :

- Post Graduate - MBA (Finance) from a reputable institute.

- CFA / FRM certification will be an added advantage.

Skills :

- 6 to 9 years of relevant experience in investment management/asset management or financial industry

- 2 plus years of experience leading a team

- Knowledge of financial markets, with familiarity with all asset classes and geographies

- Knowledge of US retail products including mutual funds, collective investment trust funds and 40 act sub-advised funds

- Project management, collaborative writing, critical reading, and editing skills

- Strong familiarity with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

- Detail-oriented and demonstrated analytical ability

Competencies :

- Experience managing people; has empathy and willingness to engage people in career discussions

- People management skills: coaching, mentoring and developing others, recognizing accomplishments and successes

- Ability to communicate effectively with senior management across global offices

- Team player with attention to details, problem-solving abilities, and analytical skills

- Ability to resolve conflict between teams or individuals so that functional/organizational objectives are achieved
