Job Purpose:  - To be solely responsible to lead, manage and direct collaborative efforts to integrate, synchronize and align effective processes for API in the area of planning, inventory management and logistics for optimal efficiency and effectiveness across the supply chain functions.   - This position will also be responsible for the entire SCM activities of our R&D division as well.  Key Responsibilities:  - Driving important changes to effectively create a robust process in the area of production planning, demand & distribution planning, demand & supply planning, materials flow, inventory, logistics, and continuous improvement programs.   - Development of overall supply planning for yearly, monthly production planning based on sales forecast with accurate timely information.  - Accountable for inventory strategy plan, capacity plan, capacity analysis, strategic and operational planning models.  - Management of Demand, supply and financial exceptions to meet business objectives.  - Oversee the inventory management process, defining departmental strategies for appropriate inventory levels, eliminating obsolete and off-spec material, and reduce aging material.  - Oversee Timely shipments to respective locations, Facilitate documentation for shipments, liquidation of old/slow moving stocks.  - Create, manage and achieve the overall logistics and customer service department budgets.   - Ensure Company is in compliance with laws and regulations regarding transportation, including hazardous materials. Resolve any legal issues pertaining to transportation/distribution and ensure logistics department complies with the standard requirements   - Safeguard warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.   - Manage and monitor inventory control and dispatch planning in coordination with different departments.  - Establish and oversee customer service activities including order entry, customer satisfaction, interface with sales, production, labs, regulatory, and quality ensuring that Biocon’s customer service creates competitive advantage in marketplace including resolving critical customer queries.   - Coordinating with other intra groups with respect to Inventory, Order Management & R&D SCM.  - Will be responsible for overseeing wholistic SCM Activities from API Business Perspective.  Educational Qualification:  - Qualification: Masters/Bachelors in Engineering, Life sciences or Business studies related to Supply chain program.  - Specialization: Supply chain management, Production planning, Business Operations.  Work Experience:  No. of years: Over 15 years progressive experience in a combination of planning, logistics and inventory control. Minimum 5-10 years of direct management experience in a technical or analytical environment.   Area of work: Supply chain planning, Inventory management and logistics in a pharmaceutical (API) domain. Added advantage in case of R&D SCM experience.  Technical/Functional Skills:  - Sound experience in diverse supply chain functions is a must.  - High level understanding of forecasting with strong tactical and strategic focus.  - Should have integrated business planning and integrated value chain implementation.  Behavioral/Managerial skills:  - Should necessarily possess strong analytical skills, leadership abilities, a go-getter attitude with great negotiation skills along with the ability to strategize  - Should have experience of handling large teams with multicultural background  Other Job Requirements:  - Ability to connect with people across teams and functions to get the work done proactively
