Big Data Analytics – Manager

Objective

- It’s a leading management consultancy firm seeks an experienced and accomplished Big Data Analytics professional with significant experience in analytics and sound understanding of resources/utilities principles and practice

Key Responsibilities:-

- Designing innovative big data modeling and analysis solutions used to mine unstructured data and applications for knowledge and information that enhance business processes

- Define and execute the analytical models to discover previous unknown pattern or to program machine learning methods to take advantage of the results of the discovery phase.

- Ability to analyze variety of data from various sources (image, text, web-clicks, audio, sensors, etc)

- Hands-on experience of working on Hadoop (Map-reduce), Mahout, Python, Pig

- Experience of working on R Hadoop, Omniture, Tableau, SAS, SPSS

- Strong expertize of using Machine Learning techniques, Natural Language Processing, Spatial analytics, Genetic Algorithms, Social Network analysis, Data Discovery /Data-mining, data visualization

- Experience of Data Ingestion tools and ability to work on Big Data Appliances like Greenplum, Netezza, SAP HANA, SAS HPC

- Strong business acumen and ability to link analytical endeavors to business outcomes

- Ability to lead initiatives and people on client projects

- Excellent oral and written communication, presentation, and analytical skills

- Master’s degree/ PhD in Quantitative Sciences, Operations Research, or MBA in Marketing Sciences from top international universities

- Relevant experience of 7-10 years in driving Big Data Analytics initiatives

Experience Required - Competencies and Characteristics:-

- Must be comfortable working with client teams and interacting closely with middle / senior management executives in a range of environments

- Should demonstrate a team oriented and collaborative approach, and excellent communication skills, including strong oral and written communication capabilities

- The individual should have successful track record of delivering results to Resources/Utility companies (either as a part of consulting or industry experience), preferably in India and in the private sector

- The individual should be self-driven and have strong intellect coupled with proficient commercial instincts

Experience:-

- A minimum of 10-15 years of overall experience (Industry + consulting)

- Strong forecasting, predictive analytics experience, should have worked on statistical tools like SAS, SPSS and minitab etc.

- Preference for candidates who have consulting background in addition to industry experience. Consulting experience should ideally include a mix of sales and
delivery roles

- Understanding and appreciation of the overall industry dynamics and key trends affecting the industry

- Good understanding and work experience in the Resource/Utility Industry

- The individual should have a deep understanding of the Resources/Utility sector in India – overall industry dynamics, issues, typical challenges faced by clients and an appreciation of operational aspects of the sector.

- What we are not looking for - Resource with only line function experience in PSU / SEB’s

Other Requirements/Education:-

- Ideal candidates would have an engineering degree with an MBA or a Supply Chain Degree or an Industrial Management Degree

- A doctoral degree in the area of Resources/Utility is preferred.

- Proficiency with MS word, excel and PowerPoint.
