BI Consultant/Solution Architect - Data Warehousing - BFSI

Opening in one of the leading Multinational Banking and Financial Organisation. Head Quartered at Paris.

Job Description: BI Consultant/Solution Architect with 14 years of BI domain experience

Roles and Responsibilities:

The Team:

- To lead multiple teams of technical leads and architects delivering full development lifecycle solutions, escalating any issues to the appropriate stakeholder

- Working closely with other staff, such as Unit Heads, Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, Designers, Technical Leads, Technical managers and Testing Teams to ensure seamless delivery of projects

- To mentor, practice guide and lead other BI leads or technical architects in your team

- To keep up to date on all technologies connected to the BI/DW stack including associated development tools and products

- Evaluate new products and share the niche features and do a comparison report if required.

- To assist the Delivery Manager in team management, identifying training needs and inducting new starters

- Taking part in discussion BI/DW forums alongside peers within the practice

Projects:

- To design, define and document solution architecture, taking part in technical requirement meetings, workshops, conference calls, discussion forums and related meetings

- Gathering client requirements, to quote and estimation projects, design systems architecture, project Plan (alongside a Lead PM), and work with systems testing if needed

- To work through specifications and develop solutions where appropriate in line with project documentation

- Working within time guidelines

- To manage large / multiple projects independently with hands on development where appropriate

- Business Analysis (Worked on Auto Leasing, Retail Bank, Equipment Finance, Factoring, Cash Management, Payments is plus)

Travel:

- Travel to client sites to transitioning, develop and deploy projects. Walking through any user feedback or solutioning needs

Communications:

- To develop customer relationships and communicate effectively with any client

- To be polite and commercially aware when conversing with clients verbally or electronically

- Conversing with Clients throughout the project lifecycle in addition to internal teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects

- To manage customer expectations technically

- Prepare the solution presentation or proposal document on need basis.

Technical Skills Required:

- Design and Development of Data Warehouse/Data Mart with standard principles (Inmon, Kimball)

- Worked in RDBMS (SQL Server, Oracle ), MPP Data base (Teradata or Exadata is desirable)

- Data Modelling and Data Analysis (one of the leading tools e.g. Erwin or Sybase PD)

- Hands experience on SQL Queries and ETL tools such as Informatica 9.x or Data Stage 9.x and BI tools such as SAP Business Objects XIR3/BI4.x or Cognos 10/TM1

- Awareness of MS BI Stack (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS) is desirable.

- Awareness of Big Data and cloud based BI stack, emerging BI trends

- Data Analytics and Data Mining skills and experience on one the tools (e.g. SAS o R) is desirable.
