Risk works with business units to independently quantify the appropriate level of risk for the client, for the firm and for our shareholders, applying appropriate governance and control to ensure the right decisions are made using accurate calculation, assessment and recording of exposure and risk.   Main Duties and Responsibilities :   - The Strategic Data BA team are responsible for identifying business requirements, preparing discussion documents and process flows and writing Business Requirement Documents to support business change.   - This is a key role within the team focusing on the integrity of data that is mastered within Risk systems as well as externally sourced data into Risk.   - This involves close interaction with both data providers and users.  - Manage their own work-streams and take ownership of the analysis from initial fact finding discussions through to the production of Business Requirement documentation.  - Investigate and specify the data that is used by Risk, the business processes the data supports and document use test cases in conjunction with source systems teams  Perform all levels of data analysis on new and existing feeds including :  - data mappings  - data feeds   - data modelling  - data transformation into and out of risk   - Support the onshore Business Process definition, specifying User Reports and supporting data  - Organize and lead meetings to gather requirements, agree process flows and use test cases with working groups of users and IT  - Provide ongoing user engagement & support in ensuring data consistency across risk  - Work as a member of an effective team, contributing to the overall delivery whilst maintaining focus on the primary objectives  - Maintain on an on-going basis up to date knowledge on risking methodologies, system infrastructure and capabilities and inter dependencies in the Bank  Management/Supervisory responsibilities for junior team members  Requirements :   - Extensive knowledge of complex areas such as Pricing, Grading, Monte Carlo or VaR concepts  - Deep understanding of data interrogation and strong warehousing and analysis experience and skills (Excel/Access/VBA/SQL)  - Strong business and data feed analysis experience - showing an ability to delve deep into an area and provide solution options and impact analysis   - Ability to communicate with senior stakeholders.  - Strong collaboration and neg skills working cross functionally to building strong, long term, working relationships.  - Takes ownership and pro-actively drives work-streams forward to successful completion.   - Able to build strong working relationships with the business, Risk IT and senior managers.  - Experience working on strategic projects  - Delivery of multiple tasks simultaneously and working under pressure  - People Management/Supervision Skills   - Practical experience of credit/market risk processes  Barclays Values and Diversity :   Our common purpose is to help people achieve their ambitions - in the right way.
