Department Overview :

Business Continuity Management (BCM) is responsible for BCM across Barclays Capital, Barclays Wealth and Barclays Corporate (CIBWM) and comprises:

- Business Relationship Management

- Technology Relationship Management

- Crisis Management

- BCM Service Continuity

- BCM Programme Office

Main Function :

- Work with our operational stakeholders and the regional BCM team to develop, maintain and improve, a business aligned, efficient and effective, globally consistent BCM process.

- Implement, monitor and maintain BCM process for the internal clients, countries, products, processes that the RM is responsible for.

- Training of internal clients and stakeholders.

- Support the Incident Management process.

- The Relationship Manager owns every aspects of the BCM experience for the clients that they are responsible for, irrespective of the specific BCM service or person delivering the service.

Main Duties :

Duties with oversight from a RM :

- Align Business Impact Analysis (BIAs) to Global Practice Guide requirements

- Review and update all BIAs annually or in response to material change.

- Implement and test business recovery solutions and maintain effectiveness of recovery requirements. This includes ensuring that all recovery requirements such as Work Area Recovery (WAR) sites are in a ready state at all times. Recovery solutions/resources must be suitably tested at required intervals and be complete with relevant test reports and post mortem analyses.

- Consolidate and supplement existing analysis to derive the downstream systems and task dependencies for the critical regional products and processes

- Coordinate and conduct extensive training and awareness programmes and activities. This includes training BCM Coordinators to manage their own BIA and BRP details and pre-test preparation activities.

- Monitor and manage data quality violations and BCM compliance metrics reports and involve the relevant RM to ensure that the underlying issues are resolved and that the metrics are maintained at an agreed standard.

- Facilitate recovery capability analysis based on the known dependencies within the Front to Back process flow.

- Assist IT Service Continuity in providing business users for IT DR Tests, and own the communication, training and logistical arrangements for these business testers.

- Facilitate responses and consolidate audit required requests.

- Provide specialist BCM Analysis and Administrative support to the team, to maximize the BCM team effectiveness and efficiency when supporting the business. Support regional and global BCM initiatives on an ad-hoc basis.

- Identify gaps and facilitate remediation solutions to improve resiliency, or raise risk forms for Management attestation.

- Provide ongoing support towards improving BCM Compliance metrics and Data Quality violation.

Duties with direct involvement from a senior RM :

- Provide Business Unit Owners with sufficient support and guidance to enable them to sign-off their BIA's.

- Utilize the Front to Back process flow analysis to assist the business in identifying specific business impacts during crises.

- Coordinate and run Crisis Workshop sessions with the region/country Crisis Management Team members.

- Manage crises responses when an incident occurs.

- Participation in regional/global projects and developments.

- Assist with the implementation of the region's crisis management processes

Person Requirements Required qualifications /education :

- First degree or equivalent, to ensure the ability to engage academically and conceptually, concerning BCM or complex aspects of the firms products and processes.

Preferred qualifications /education :

- Masters degree, to ensure the ability to facilitate structured research in support of global business facing projects.

Required experience :

- 2-3 yrs as Relationship Management in Business Continuity

- 2 yrs Project Management

- Exposure to Investment Banking, IT Terminology and Asian Cultures

Preferred experience :

- 3-5 yrs Client facing Sales or Service Management experience (such as professional services) with highly discerning and senior clients.

- 3-5 yrs Strategic Business Continuity experience influencing global processes, policies and practices.

- 3-5 yrs Project experience in both Execution and Governance

- 2-3 yrs in Investment Banking Industry

- Extensive interaction with and good understanding of IT

- Direct and intense working relationships in multiple Asian countries

Skills and Knowledge :

- Excellent facilitation skills works well with all levels of personnel and knows how to motivate to meet common goals and objectives

- Basic knowledge of Investment Banking products and processes

- Trusted partner and subject matter expert that works closely with clients to develop appropriate solutions

- Resilient and adaptable with ability to implement change

- Collaborative within regional team and with clients

- Proactive, self-motivated and delivery - orientated individual able to work without supervision.

- Good formal and informal communicator

- Be self aware of weaknesses and development opportunities

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Ability to multi-task in dynamic, fast-paced environment.

- Strong Interpersonal skills

- Strong knowledge of MS ACCESS, WORD, EXCEL and Project Software

- Exceptional follow through skills

- The candidate for this role must be flexible and be prepared to work demanding hours; there is also possibility of overseas travel.
