Job purpose & Scope :
To assure Vendor & product development, vendor process & quality management for Electrical and non-electrical appliances, lighting and fans products as per Indian standard requirement and meet Bajaj quality assurance norms.
Major Areas of Responsibilities :
- Developing new vendors, vendor manufacturing process improvements, dealing with day to day problems related to supply chain, manufacturing process and process quality.
- Product development with clear understanding of Injection moulding, sheet metal manufacturing, understanding of surface finish like painting, powder coating and plating, electrical components like lighting, motors, fans, wire harness, switch controls, rubber products etc, and good knowledge of packaging development.
- Regularly monitor relationships and contracts with suppliers so that the organisation has a reliable supply of goods and services
- Manage ongoing relationships with, major suppliers, vendors, or sub-contractors to minimise costs and ensure the organisation receives satisfactory standards of service and targets are met.
- Problem solving related to production process and process quality as per guidelines of BEL quality.
- Understanding of local Chinese laws, dealing with government and local Chinese agencies, understanding of office management.
- Oversee the overall forecasting, budgeting, monitor the cost and effectiveness of activities to optimise resources and prioritise spending at China office.
- Evaluation of vendor performance score in quality area, Vendor management - conduct factory audit/ compliance to approval process/ RFI/ verification of data from vendor/ sign commercial contracts
- Interpret test results, compare them to established specifications and control limits, and make recommendations on appropriateness of data for release
- Should have experience working in China (Preferred)
- Should be familiar with Chinese language (Preferred)
- Should be from appliance industry (Preferred)
Person Specifications :
Essential Qualification : Graduate Engineering, Diploma with 6 to 10 years of experience
Desired Qualification : B.E. Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical , Diploma - Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical
Experience : 5 - 7 years of experience in similar area including dealing with Chinese vendors.
