Detailed Process description:

Collateral Operations manages the margining for the OTC Derivatives & Foreign Exchange businesses. Collateral Management is a tool to control & reduce the bank's credit exposure risk on Derivative Trade.

The Collateral Operations Unit monitors daily margining for customers across various products (Rates, Commodity, Structured Credit, Equity and Foreign Exchange). The Counterparty's net exposure is evaluated each morning in order to determine collateral requirement. Margin Calls are made and received by Collateral Analyst. Margining criteria has already been determined in the credit support agreements. The most common agreement is the International Swaps & Derivatives Association's Master Agreement and Credit Support Annex. Team is responsible to handle margin calls for OTC, Repo agreements.

Team is also responsible for executing F&O exchange movements, control reports, setting up new agreements and regulatory reporting

Detailed Role description:

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in the world of OTC, Repo and F&O collateral space. The associate will be part of the Collateral Management team working in a fast paced and time sensitive environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for placing margin calls, exchanging cash/security collateral with clients, reporting for Interbank/Corporate clients for Global Derivative IB counterparties based in USA, APAC and Europe.

Although working individually, the success is measured at a team level, with internal targets and results being measured against the Line of Business external peer group across the globe. The level accuracy, TAT, potential risk issues addressed and error free performance and our success in the market versus our peer group is a key barometer in measuring the control of risk around the process.

In a deadline driven environment, turnaround, accuracy and escalation are of high importance as we are at risk to market movements, traders P & L, client relationship, and the bank's reputation including settlement risk. A sense of high priority and attention to detail is vital.

The successful candidate will be provided with the opportunity to learn all aspects of the team's responsibilities.

- Verification of call details originating from internal applications and confirmations.

- Follow-up with counterparties on pending margin calls and obtain response.

- Daily investigation and resolution of any disputes in margin calls

- MIS, reporting of operational and trade exposures to management.

- Working closely together with Static data team, Settlements, credit officers, repo/sales desk and clients to ensure exposure on the portfolio is covered for any credit event

- Responsible for taking action on items on the daily breaks/fails reports

- Monitoring daily control reports such as credit level alerts, exposure, IA changes, MTM swings

- Maintain established productivity levels as per SLA.

- Ensure that all established procedures are followed.

- Meet or exceed all deadlines given as per SLA.

- Excellent organisational skills are required with the ability to prioritise daily workload, work accurately and efficiently under pressure.

- To be able to communicate effectively, and clearly escalate queries to Onshore / management team verbally and written.

- To be flexible in their attitude and approach, and be willing to work extra hours during the week with overflow of volume and to provide cover for holidays planned and unplanned.
