JOB DESCRIPTION :

Business Unit / Functions : Finance Business Partners

JOB TITLE : Senior Specialist or Consultant Reporting and Business Analysis - AXA US

REPORTING TO (ROLE) : Senior Finance Consultant

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB :

- Support the AXA US financial reporting, management reporting and business analysis of the actual, budget, forecast and strategic plan performance to senior leadership.

- Prepare predictive analysis reporting Insurance KPI which includes APE, FYP, NBV etc

- Ensure the financial reporting processes are completed in an accurate, consistent, timely and cost effective manner and in accordance with accounting standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

The key responsibilities of this role are to :

Coordinate and implement the financial and management reporting processes including Monthly Dashboard, Monthly /Quarterly Business Review and Finance Dashboard incorporating profit, value, margin analysis and supporting commentaries/footnotes :

- Review and analyse performance reports and associated commentaries / analysis. Able to collaborate & follow up with different departments

- Produce AXA US performance results to senior leadership incorporating high quality standards of analysis and insightful commentaries that provide a clear and transparent view of performance

- Produce key business KPIs (APE, FYP, NBV, NBVM, AUM, Net Flows, etc.) to senior leadership. Propose ways to develop consistent and effective Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) wherever possible in line with Budget and Strat Plan requirements for continuous assessment and comparison across all periods

- Knowledge of financial modelling and building models using different scenarios. Work closely with the Finance Business Partners to discuss and understand the performance reports and associated analysis / commentaries prepared by Business CFO

- Report findings and performance results to the business and senior management

- Work closely with the Reporting & Governance team to ensure all management and performance results reporting consistent with financial reporting

- Provide ad-hoc technical reporting & predictive analysis by Business Area

- Regularly review financial and management reporting processes to identify opportunities for improvement in terms of effectiveness and efficiency.

- Propose/ discuss changes to existing reports/ KPIs to improve the benefits generated from reporting activities

Support the budget revision, forecasting and strategic planning processes :

- Prepare/Support the consolidated End to End MBR packs in a timely and clear manner

- Ensure consistency, uniformity and quality of forecasting e.g. monthly forecast, pre-close half year, pre-close full-year through clear articulation of AXA US / Group requirements and critical review/analysis of results to provide a forward looking view of performance

- Work closely with the Business Partners to discuss and understand the forecast and associated analysis / commentaries prepared business

- Provide support if required to the strategy team to deliver the process of strategic planning

Work with the finance transformation team on the Management Information System project :

- Assist to select and define KPIs based on the business dynamics

- Build/Streamline the reporting processes based on the changes in the business models

Project Support :

- Provide ad hoc accounting and reporting support

KEY CUSTOMERS :

- AXA US Director, Senior Director, Business CFOs

- Senior Management of various departments

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS Experience/Qualification :

- Master Degree in Business Administration from a good B -Schools .

- Actuarial knowledge is an added advantage

- CA, CPA or qualified Actuary

- Minimum of 3-5 years of insurance industry experience

Knowledge :

- Knowledge of performance drivers and measurement within Insurance business

- Good understanding of financial processes and operation

Skills :

- Capable of effectively handling multiple priorities under time and delivery pressures in a changing business environment

- Good communication skills with good command of spoken and written English

- Team player with excellent project management skills and good experience in monitoring, analysis and reporting performance

- Self-motivated and strong analytical mind, well-organized and attention to details

- Good business sense and presentation skills

- Demonstrated experiences in engaging and working with senior management

- Proficiency in Database query/concepts, MS PowerPoint, Word and Excel

- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
