JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION: Subject Matter Expert - Regulatory Reporting & Consolidation

REPORTS TO: Sr. Finance Consultant / Manager - AXA BS services

SUPERVISES: None

REGULARLY INTERACTS WITH: AXAUS onshore teams and ABS teams

Process Brief

The process involves wide range of management & regulatory reporting and analysis. The key objective of the process is to provide management with the insight on the financial transactions / position of the company over a period of time. Majorly the team is involved with:

- Margins / Spread reporting & analysis (it should reconcile to P&L and to understand why there is a variance or why the contract charges are higher etc..)

- IFRS Earnings Flash Report

- IFRS & GAAP Reporting and analysis

- Earnings analysis & Directors Reports

- Preparation of 10 K & 10 Q reports including XBRL tagging & MD & A

- Preparation of the Annual Statement (Blue Blank) including Notes to Financials compilation and Separate Accounts Statement (Green Blank

- Quarterly Statutory Statements, Statutory MD&A Other ancillary and adhoc reporting

Position Summary:

A key member of the AXA BS Finance operations team; will have a comprehensive understanding of Management Reporting (reconciliation / analysis of IFRS & GAAP income statement to IFRS & GAAP spreads monthly, IFRS Earnings Flash Report, Quarterly Earnings Analysis, Board of Directors Report, Forecasting / Budgeting, DAC / Reserve roll forwards etc.) and experience on preparation / review of financial statements and has end to end knowledge on Accounting.

Thorough knowledge on IFRS & GAAP would be essential. Position requires coordination and preparation of certain detailed analyses for inclusion in the Quarterly Statutory Analysis Package/ Clearance document & US GAAP financial statements. Requires high level knowledge of Statutory Accounting and Reporting, and knowledge of IFRS / US GAAP.

This position also requires experience in:

a. People Management

b. Process Management

c. Partnership Management

The candidate will need to support the delivery of effective and timely statutory financial reporting to AXA Equitable while relying upon business and functional areas across the organization.

Key Accountabilities:

1. Initial analysis and review of product level management spreads on a monthly basis.

2. Initial review of reconciliation and analysis of IFRS and GAAP income statement s to IFRS and GAAP spreads on a monthly basis.

3. Preparation of monthly IFRS Earnings Flash Report including variance analysis to budget and actual results.

4. Preparation, coordination and compilation of Quarterly Earnings Analysis and Board of Directors Report

5. Preparation, coordination and compilation of Rating Agency Meeting presentations

6. Coordination and input of periodic Strategic Plan and Forecast data into Magnitude and initial quality control review to ensure consistency of data for Insurance and Holding segments

7. Preparation and coordination of AXA Margins schedule in Magnitude

8. Preparation of QFS schedules - DAC roll forwards, Reserve Roll forwards, Product Margins

9. New account creation and mappings & Initial assignment and mapping of new product requests

10. Responsible for the coordination and preparation of all Annual and Quarterly statutory financial reporting for various companies of AXA Equitable.

11. Preparation of detailed AXA Equitable analyses for inclusion in the Quarterly Statutory Analysis Package and semi-annual Audit Committee Presentations

12. Primary responsibility for compilation and coordination of the Audited financials of various companies including preparation of Statutory footnotes in compliance with the Model Audit Rule

13. Expert technical support to the Team on all matters pertaining to the Financial Statements. Address and resolve any technical and/or procedural queries from internal and external customers.

14. Perform quality audits, identify any issues/trends and make recommendations to ensure ongoing compliance with agreed quality standards.

15. Deal with complex customer instructions and queries to defined productivity and quality standards

16. Develop and maintain a good technical knowledge of the relevant process area in order to process complex tasks to agreed quality standard

17. Strong organizational skills; the ability to perform multiple tasks.

18. Implement process improvements.

19. Ensure accurate and timely reporting to customers and top management

20. Perform quality audits, identify any issues/trends and make recommendations to ensure ongoing compliance with agreed quality standards.

21. Deal with complex customer instructions and queries to defined productivity and quality standards

22. Comfortable working on US Shift

Specific Position Related Experience

1. Chartered Accountant or Experienced Accountant (Similar to Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent)

Additionally desirable:

a. Good in communication

b. 4 - 6 years of Accounting experience (including knowledge in preparation and review of financial statements & regulatory reporting)

c. Working knowledge of any ERP system

d. Past experience of working in Insurance company will be preferred

e. Knowledge / Experience with Statutory Reporting / IFRS / US GAAPS etc.

f. Willing to work in all shifts
