AVP - Rewards - BPO/BFSI (10-17 yrs)

Overall purpose of role:

The role holder will be seen as a reward Subject Matter Expert (SME) within HR. They will be required to provide advice and guidance on all elements of reward including: cash compensation, benefits, long and short term incentive/bonus plans and general reward policy. Key aspects of the role will be:

- Assist the Head of HR, by supporting the reward programmes across India, with responsibility for support to specific functions within India technology centres.

- Integral role providing reward support for pricing of roles and the governance of proposed compensation packages.

- Reward lead for the successful delivery of the payround process - working closely with regional India/APAC and also global Functions Reward teams.

- Provide support in the delivery of business reward solutions and HR/Reward processes through market research and external benchmarking skills.

- Act as a first point of contact to provide quality Compensation consultancy advice to the clients in company in particular the Head of HR for the company

- The role holder will assist the Heads of Reward and Reward Managers in the effective delivery of reward strategies, compensation policies, practices and reward programmes across follows.

The role holder will be expected to propose new ways of working that support the HR and Reward agenda.

Key Accountabilities:

- Working as part of the wider APAC reward team the role holder will input to the robust preparation of the annual reward plan whilst delivering against the following work streams:

Annual Payround (40%):

The role holder will play an integral role in delivering the annual payround process through:

- Leading and/or contributing to key work-streams throughout the payround process

- Data management & associated MI

- Payround systems tool testing and production

- Communication with client groups

- Reviewing and challenging pay decisions as appropriate

- Be seen as a go to person in the Reward team for any payround related issue

Market Data& Job Evaluation (25%)

The role holder will:

- Be expected to reach out and engage peers in other Reward teams to ensure the approach to market data is as consistent as possible

- Undertake and own the detailed benchmarking exercise with the HRBPs leading to the submission of data

- Perform analysis on the market data and create market data ranges to be used during the year-end payround as well as creating hiring ranges for use by the Resourcing teams

- Carry out and respond to numerous ad-hoc benchmarking and job evaluation requests made throughout the year

BAU reward advisory (30%):

The Reward Lead will offer value-add, specialist consultancy support in the delivery of business reward solutions and as such they will regularly be involved in, but not limited to, the following pieces of work:

- Job Evaluation. The role holder will be expected to competently evaluate profiles for Director and MD roles using the Towers Watson methodology and give appropriate feedback

- Job Pricing. On an ad-hoc basis, the individual will need to price roles requested by the business/ HRBPs

- Offer Approval for BA1-VP hires. The Reward Lead will have delegated authority to approve offers at the BA1-VP level

- Reward Analytics. The role holder will be expected to deliver strong, analytical work to meet client needs

Reward Governance (5%):

On an on-going basis, the Reward Lead will be expected to consider the implications of reward policy and governance in all they do, making sure that all work undertaken is compliant. They will be expected to review policies on an on-going basis to ensure they are fit for purpose, articulating to the Head of Reward, APAC or the functional Reward Managers where changes are required.

Stakeholder Management and Leadership:

- The role holder will work in partnership with colleagues from other HR teams, primarily the HRBP and Resourcing Partners within HR, Head of HR for and regional and functional Reward teams.

- The role holder will have no supervisory responsibilities.

Risk and Control Objective:

- Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Barclays Operational Risk Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Standards.

Person Specification

The role holder will have experience of:

- Managing and communicating with stakeholders appropriately

- Using strong numerical, analytical and problem solving skills

- Working with complex data analysis and interpretation techniques

- Related reward legislation, governance and practice

- Compensation policies and practices, ideally within the financial services industry, and be able to demonstrate a good all-round knowledge of this

- Performing a consultancy role, either in-house within an HR function, or with a relevant consultancyhouse

Managerial experience:

- The successful candidate isnot required to have any managerial experience.

- Academic and professional qualifications

- A university degree is preferred.

- Language skills

- The ideal candidate must have excellent English communication skills.
