AVP - Legal Entity Reporting - CA/CPA - BFSI

Responsibilities :

- Provide people leadership to direct reports & also assist the Director in expanding the team & helping with the transition of reporting work from in-scope countries

- Responsible for preparation and coordination of legal entity Statutory & Regulatory reports and accompanying documents and coordination with the Accounting & Reporting Controller before filing with authorities within prescribed timetable.

- Primary co-ordination point for PwC during external audits, ensuring that full analysis and explanations are provided to enable a clean audit opinion and Legal Entity Board approval

- Ensures the local GAAP accounts reconciliation to US GAAP is completed accurately and on time.

- Review to ensure high quality accurate legal entity analysis and explanation for Legal Entity Financial Controller.

- Prepare reporting information and relevant business analysis support for regular board of directors meetings of legal entities and for Audit & Finance Committees, where appropriate.

- Monitor and report on effectiveness of controls implementing remedial steps, as required

- Adhere to the required Integrated Controls programme (SoX etc) for preparation and review of all statutory filings

- Ensure COGNOS implementation for statutory, regulatory and board reporting in place.

Qualifications :

- Qualified Accountant, CA/CPA (not MBAs)

- Public Accounting/audit experience (Preferably Big 4)

- The candidate should be CA Rank Holder (mandatory) or or at-least first attempt

- At least 6 years of post qualification finance experience.

- Strong technical accounting background and experience in accounting, statutory / regulatory reporting or statutory auditing

- Advanced knowledge of IFRS GAAP and reporting requirements

- Good understanding of US GAAP and also other GAAP is advantageous

- In depth knowledge of Policies, Procedures and Systems. Knowledge of COGNOS will be a plus

- Demonstrate ability to operate in a large company matrix environment

- Ability to collaborate across geographies in a matrix structure and deliver on customer expectations

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Proven People Leadership Skills including developing staff.

- Project / Change Management experience along with transition of work from onshore location

- Proficiency in MS-Office applications, Essbase/analytical software, Oracle and Cognos

- Proactive approach in identifying, escalating, reporting and resolving statutory reporting issues ensuring analyst/s team focus on critical activities.

- Presentation and articulation of statutory reporting requirements to local entity Controller

- Ability to articulate statutory reporting requirements to key Controller and customers.

- Strong analytical and problem solving skills to resolve issues and track to conclusion.

- Ability to escalate to reporting issues to the Accounting & Reporting team in absence of Legal Entity Reporting Financial Director or Financial Controller and judge when issues require escalation.

- Must demonstrate personal accountability in ensuring all tasks and activities are carried out on time and in accordance with statutory reporting and policy requirements.

- Ability to handle issues in absence of Manager and judge when issues require escalation to Controller

- Ability to respond to questions relating to statutory reporting requirements and local statutory accounts.
