Position of Lead Strategy Analyst - AVP in Banking domain in Noida.

Overall purpose of role :

- The IASB IFRS 9 project, which replaces the current IAS 39 standard, addresses classification and measurement, impairment methodology and hedge accounting. Data Strategy and Governance team within Risk Analytics function is looking for a strong data strategy analyst and SAS developer to support the delivery of the IFRS9 models.

- The role involves contribution to the data preparation, implementation and supporting a modelling team responsible for IFRS9 model build across portfolios, spanning numerous functions (wholesale, Retail, Credit Card, Wealth), product types, customer segments and geographies.

- Data Strategy team in Risk Analytics function is responsible to develop and implement the data framework across different Risk functions. As Lead Data Strategy Analyst within this high-profile team, you will take ownership of IFRS9 data strategy and infrastructure support for multiple portfolios and work with stakeholders across Credit Risk, Finance and the business to understand all factors that impact Impairment, preparing modelling-friendly analytical datamarts, ensuring that model input data is accurate and the end to end processes are well structured by following a rigorous governance and standard framework.

- You will be expected to work across the wider Risk and Finance functions, ensuring best practice for tactical and longer term solutions, in addition to providing insight into data and derive value-added analysis.

Key Accountabilities and Skills required :

- It is important to note this is a data related role and not a risk/finance modelling role. This team is supporting multiple risk modelling teams who are building the IFRS9 models

Data Strategy and Implementation (60%) :

- Very strong SAS, SQL, data modelling and transformation skills - with ability to manipulate large datasets, automate processes and debug code with minimal steer.

- Strong passion for data exploration, manipulation, data quality and bench-marking utilizing SAS or any other analytical tools

- Become data and process experts across different clusters feeding information into the IFRS9 models.

- Excellent knowledge of data warehouse and MI environments

- Knowledge discovery and presenting findings for range of stakeholders. This involves importing, cleaning, transforming, validating and bench-marking or modelling data with the purpose of understanding or making conclusions from the data for decision making purposes

- End-to-end project planning and delivery. Ability to work dynamically on multiple projects independently and strong stakeholder management while putting customers in the heart of everything we do

- Validate, track, and monitor delivered projects. Upkeep of processes by ensuring regular review of IFRS9 data preparation processes to identify areas of improvement, focusing on accuracy, robustness and controls

- Produce robust documentation to ensure reliability of results and fulfill governance requirements.

Service Delivery (10%) :

- Design and implement data strategies and processes for IFRS9 projects taking into account stakeholder needs and technical strategy of the organisation.

- Provide insight and recommendations on best use of data and infrastructure to IFRS9 modelling team and other stakeholders.

- Lead interactions with technology teams and leaders, ensuring requirements are taken into account in decision making.

- Maintain high levels of delivery, service and excellence in ensuring SLAs are kept and quality meets high standards expected.

- Be an integral part of change agenda within business, data and technical areas and design innovative solutions to drive the team forward.

Relationship & Stakeholder Management (10%) :

- Establish and maintain effective working relationship with key stakeholders.

- Provide insight on infrastructure, process and data and develop innovative solutions to stakeholders to enable them to make informed decisions to IFRS9 modelling team

- Building a cross functional network of contacts in Risk, Finance and Business teams within the bank - championing the sharing and adoption of best practice

- Keep the stakeholder and senior management informed about any important developments or issues within the projects.

Compliance & Controls (20%) :

- Ensure processes are managed in line with key policy and SOX controls liaising with the governance, policy and SOX teams where necessary.

- Develop and put into action local standards to ensure adherence to Policies

- Operate within defined governance and control frameworks and ensure compliance for in-scope processes to be audit-ready all the time.

- Regularly review controls to ensure on-going best fit, compliance and efficiency improvements can be implemented.

- Support the wider delivery pipeline by taking part in reviews and committees.

Risk and Control :

- All colleagues have to ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal

Policies and Policy Standards

Your Skills and Qualifications will include :

Essential :

- A high level of analytical work experience in financial services strongly preferred.

- Extensive knowledge of SAS, Rational Databases (Oracle, Teradata etc.), UNIX, Tivoli and other analytic toolsets.

- Experience in consumer credit risk analytics across customer lifecycle

- Knowledge of financial services portfolios. Awareness of the economy, market and customer trends affecting the business.

- Familiarity with analytical techniques and their value in business.

- Unrivalled attention to detail.

- Project and stakeholder management experience.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred :

- Experience in working on Hadoop platform and tools such as Impala, Hive, Spark, Pig, etc. is a bonus

- knowledge of Collections and Recoveries in customer lifecycle

- Experience with other analytical tools such as R, WPS and SPSS

- Knowledge of SAP Business Objects is desirable but not essential

- Familiar with Impairment, Advanced Internal Rating-Based (AIRB) modelling (PD, LGD and EaD) and Regulatory reporting

- University degree in quantitative discipline is an advantage (e.g. Computer Science, Statistics, Operations Research, Economics and Engineering)

- Understands the importance of strong awareness of the Control framework within which the bank manages risk and supports team members in understanding it
