Head of Card Operations (Designation- AVP):

Job Description:

To ensure smooth functioning of Card Operations with the use of the knowledge acquired in Visa/MasterCard/ NPCI related activities. The candidate must also play a leader's role to manage a good balance between card related systems and operations and look for opportunities to improve processes.

Principal Accountabilities:

- Managing the Card Operation cycle and reconciliation processes effectively to ensure proper settlements.

- Tracking notifications from Network partners and managing these resources effectively to avoid penalties and unnecessary charges.

- Managing the entire Chargeback cycle which includes Retrieval Requests, Representations, Compliance and Arbitrations.

- Supervising staff handling customer disputes and ensuring effective and timely action of disputes to provide a good customer service.

- Extraction of daily/week/monthly MIS for effective monitoring of transactions and volumes from a business/operational and risk perspective.

- Ensure existing controls related to card operations are maintained and strive to continuously tightening controls.

- Play a lead role in all card related system testing for all enhancements and new systems.

- Manage the Fraud Monitoring Unit for issuing & Acquiring and ensure that the fraud losses are controlled.

- Must ensure full compliance with all payment networks thus avoiding any warning and penalties.

- Manage the end to end card production process which involves the delivery of the card to the customer

- Manage card vendors, card technology providers

- Manage relationships with the partner banks / alliance partners

Skills

- Bachelor's Degree and/or Professional Qualifications.

- Must be fully conversant with Visa/MasterCard /NPCI operations, transactions flows and preferably the message formats.

- A fair knowledge in EMV and 3D Secure transactions

- Over 10+years in experience in a full fledged Card Centre handling various types of card related operations preferably at a supervisory /or above capacity

- The ability to handle a large team with effective staff management skills.

- A hands-on managerial skills

- Good time management and project management skills.

- Good analytical skills

- Must the capability to effectively negotiate with third parties such as vendor.
