Description of field of activity

Summary: Deutsche Bank is exposed to a number of risks on a daily basis. These range from credit losses, market price volatility and operational failures to liquidity shortages and regulatory and legal matters.

The Compliance Department and Central Compliance Services protect the Bank by advising on ethical conduct, identifying regulatory solutions, safeguarding integrity and reputation, and promoting, in partnership with the business, a culture of Compliance.

The Bangalore team provides regulatory and compliance support to the Bank's operations in Europe, Asia and the Americas, in coordination with and support of Compliance Officers located in those countries (a "Country Compliance Officer").

Surveillance AVP will play a key role in assisting the Bank detect and investigate potential market manipulation activity, and helping address resulting regulatory, policy or reputational issues.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee performance of a team 2-3 managers/ team leads and ensure quality of work and adherence to timelines within group

- Go beyond process responsibilities and identify potential risks to DB in the areas being monitored

- Build and Develop subject matter expertise in team, align the team’s performance and goal in line with the Department’s goal

- Conduct daily surveillance of personal trading activities by reviewing, clearing or escalating trading alerts generated by DB’s surveillance systems (“Alerts”)

- Perform research and investigations to identify the reason for potential violations

- Manage the process in Bangalore however have an expertise to influence front to back across multiple locations

- Liaise with Country Compliance Officers, the business, operations or Technology in the development, review, testing and/or enhancement of procedures

- Correctly escalate genuine concerns on the prevention of both actual and perceived risk in terms of detecting policy violations, reputational and/or Compliance risks

Specifics:

- Will be required to cover functions globally, with the possibility of working shifts (APAC/ UK & US)

- May require travel

- This role will require person to contribute in individual capacity as well as oversee work of the team

Requirements:

Education and Experience:

- Bachelor’s degree, post graduate degree will be a plus

- The candidate should have atleast 8-10 years of prior experience in banking, with 2-3 years in compliance

- Strong communicator, comfortable in presenting and explaining analysis

- Must be detail oriented, interested in the markets, current events, and financial news

- Knowledge/experience with array of financial products (including stocks, bonds, equity/credit derivatives)

- Advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint skills (pivot tables, experience with large data sets, proficient in data manipulation and presentation)

- Team player with great attitude and work ethic and a strong attention to details

- Ability to multi-task on several different assignments/projects, works well under pressure and meet deadlines

Skills:

- Full English language proficiency (oral and written) required

- Strong proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint required. Proficiency in Access a strong plus
