1. Management consulting in the areas of growth strategy, operations and organization design, for corporates and portfolio companies of private equity funds. The firm is completely sector agnostic and has handled engagements across a variety of industries. The firm also does a lot of work in the development sector, helping international clients in the areas of policy intervention and impact assessment.

2. Investment advisory for Private Equity/Venture Capital firms - deal sourcing, deal evaluations, market and operational due-diligence of potential investee companies; post investment improvement initiatives. The firm also acts as the India office of an international Venture Fund

Position description: Associate

The Associate will work as an integral member of the management consulting team, working for both corporate and Private Equity clients. The role would entail handling entire client engagements/large modules in an independent manner, under guidance of the Engagement Manager and Partner. The associate would need to handle complex client problems, break them into issues and conduct in-depth research, analysis and fact finding for each of the issues. The role is completely client facing, and the Associate would be the key touch point for all client interactions.

In terms of exposure, the role would involve day to day working with the top management from the client side, while at the same time daily interactions with the firm's partners. Since the Associate would also be leading all primary research and expert interviewing (which forms a large portion of any Aumentis engagement), this would also give the Associate an exposure to industry experts. In a number of cases, the associate would also work closely with Partners of Private Equity Funds.

Additionally, he/she will also assist in business development and internal knowledge development efforts. Requirements for the position

- Candidates must possess ability to structure problems logically, arrive at possible hypothesis, and conduct required research and analysis to arrive at the solution.

- He/she must be able to deal with fair amount of ambiguity in structuring and solving complex, unfamiliar problems.

- He/she should have demonstrable areas of leadership skills and business savvy.

- Candidate should have the ability to independently take decision during projects and should have exhibited the same during his/her previous work or academic career.

- Candidate may be required to demonstrate an understanding of basic business concepts. Goes without saying that the candidate should also possess excellent written and oral communication skills - which is an absolute must.

- Only candidates possessing an MBA from IIM-A, IIM-B, IIM-C, IIM-K, IIM-L, IIM-I, XLRI, FMS, ISB and top international B-schools may apply. Desired experience level is 0-3 years post MBA. Prior experience in management consulting will be preferred.

Hiring Process:

- The short-listed candidates will go through 4-5 rounds of case based interviews. The first and second rounds are generally held over a conference call (if candidate is presently based away from Bangalore) and the last few rounds shall be held face to face.

In case the candidate has a prior experience in management consulting, the same must be reflected clearly in the resume, with some details of the projects worked on in the past.
