Associate Director - Procurement - BPO (10-12 yrs)

Description

The role of the Person will be in Procurement process will be to ensure that Procurement process is managed efficiently and effectively. He/She will help in managing the Procurement process for multiple geographies and manage processes for the same. He/She must have a thorough understanding of Procurement function and Best practices in the Industry.

The role will report to the Associate Director - Procurement

Responsibilities

- Coordination and management of Procurement Process function for multiple geographies

- Supervise all PO Issue and GRN staff to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness of the activities performed by the team

- Responsible for ensuring the PO are issued correctly and in time as per the guidelines/procedures

- Ensure all goods and services purchased comply with the corporate policy

- Ensuring that the Goods/Services are received from the vendor as per the agreed terms

- Support development and delivery of a e-Procurement Strategy to deliver the target benefits

- Support in establishing/Implementing new processes and systems for effective e-procurement across the company

- Recommends and implements approved changes to methods or procedures to improve the efficiency of the function

- Develop and implement tools resulting in significant improvements in all aspects of the sourcing function of the supply chain; identify appropriate systems and e-tools for improving the overall sourcing function.

- Co-ordinate the benchmarking of procurement practices in the IT / ITES industry and other industries.

- Have responsibility for tracking and reporting procurement performance against plan; provide periodic reporting and ensure accountability for savings commitments.

- Hands on Management of the function activities to ensure the accurate and timely deliverables

- Develop a culture of continuous improvement and standardization of operations and systems.

- Ability to handle confidential information professionally.

- Must be able to manage multiple priorities and able to work well in a fast paced, dynamic environment.

- Effectively communicate expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.

- Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise team members, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.

- Ability to manage HR related matters for the direct reports and teams; including interviewing, hiring, compensation planning, ongoing feedback/coaching and formal performance management (e.g., mid-year and year-end reviews).

- Manage Escalations, identify root cause and come up process improvement and put controls in place.

- Facilitate resolution of customer grievances in a timely manner and ensure superior levels of Service promises are met.

- Analyze and resolve complex or difficult problems presented by subordinates, and escalate appropriately to the senior management.

- Perform other duties and projects as assigned

Position Qualification and Competency Requirements

- Bachelors Degree preferably in an analytical or business discipline (Accounting/ Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, etc.), MBA Preferred

- Experience with eSourcing platforms such as Ariba etc

- Understanding of the reverse auction process with related technology skills

- Exposure to and strong background in best-in-class sourcing processes, their development and successful implementation

- Candidate with good knowledge of ERP packages (SAP) would be preferred

- 10 to 12 years of experience working in MNC

- Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential

- Establishing effective operating policies, lean initiatives and processes.

- Resourceful and well organized.

- Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

- Flexible during times of change

- Persuasive, encouraging and motivating

- Strong written and oral communication skills

- Strong interpersonal skills.

- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.

- Candidates with experience of working with multiple geographies would be given preference
