Job Description
Title: Head of Recruitment (Associate Director)

Overview of the role
- Overall responsibility for delivery on requirements across a range of business areas through a combination of internal placements as well as external, direct and agency sources. Business groups include Technology, Customer Services, Operations, Finance and Corporate Functions.
- Setting strategic direction for the resourcing function in line with business strategy
- Representing the recruitment function and talent resourcing strategy at a senior level in the organisation.
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships and regular communication with HR and Business partners to ensure a business-aligned talent sourcing service.
- Regular reporting and analysis on recruitment activities and KPI’s to senior management.
- Management of recruitment team providing direction, leadership, motivation and ensuring development of the team.
- Reviewing and further developing the recruitment strategy for the different business areas.
- Maintain an up to date knowledge on external market trends in recruitment, particularly those related to our industry.
- Stay current on employment law and other relevant regulation, ensuring our processes and practices are appropriate, providing guidance to the team and business partners.
- Partner with HR generalist colleagues on Executive Search activities.
- Hands-on recruitment for HR and senior level roles into the organisation.
Your responsibilities
Team Management
- Managing a team of Recruitment Coordinators, Recruiters and Senior Recruiters who are responsible for the daily recruitment.
- Managing, developing and motivating team members to achieve their objectives
- Mentoring and developing individuals within the team to ensure long term individual growth and retention
- Performing bi-annual performance reviews with all members of the team
Recruitment process
- Ensuring an efficient and business-aligned recruitment function is in place, with best practice adhered to during the entire end-to-end recruitment process to ensure effective selection takes place
- Constantly improving recruitment processes and tools to enable the business to attract, select, recruit and retain the best talent to serve our end customers.
- Designing and delivering innovative sourcing strategies using direct sourcing methods (advertising, employee referrals, headhunting, networking, market mapping etc)
- Developing a social media strategy for recruitment
- Constantly looking at ways of improving the candidate experience, whilst reducing both time-to-hire and cost-per-hire
- Setting specific targets and KPI’s for all team members to ensure a consistent approach across the organisation
- Build the company brand so that external candidates view it as an employer of choice.
Recruitment Administration
- Act as escalation point for background vetting issues, managing any queries, questions or decision relating to their form and employment with the organisation
- Ensuring PSL contracts are in place with suppliers and ensuring strict adherence to all terms and conditions
- Performing periodic reviews with all PSL providers, to ensure effective business partnering with all agencies
- Regularly review fee arrangements, renegotiating as appropriate
Stakeholder management and partnership
- Managing numerous relationships with key stakeholders in the business to understand challenges and provide solutions
- Translating high level business objectives into operational resourcing solutions
- Working closely with all HR generalists to ensure the effective delivery of recruitment solutions for their groups
- Liaising regularly with recruitment teams in other regions.
- Collating external market intelligence for the business on recruitment and market trends on an ad-hoc basis
- Ensuring managers are fully up to speed with any employment legislation affecting recruitment decisions
- Ensuring managers are skilled with how to conduct effective interviews for objective and skilled selection of the appropriate candidates
Essential skills
- A proven track record of managing a busy in-house recruitment team
- Excellent understanding of recruitment practices across a broad based organisation – global exposure advantageous
- Strong motivational skills in management approach
- Ability to operate at both a strategic and operational level
- Ability to drive forward change agendas
- Proven ability to interact effectively with key stakeholders in the business on a daily basis
- Proven hands-on recruitment and selection skills within a corporate environment.
Desirable skills
- Experience managing a recruitment function within a customer service oriented and retail customer facing organisation.
- Experience in developing and implementing an effective social media recruitment strategy.
- A record of achieving results in increasing talent sourcing through improving direct hiring efforts, including increasing internal placements.
- Experience communicating with and working effectively with colleagues globally on recruitment issues and projects.
