Job Title: Associate Director

Function: Accounting Advisory Services (AAS)

Location: Bangalore

Role & Responsibilities:

Business Development:

- Associate Directors shall be significantly involved in business development – lead generation till closure. They are expected to possess considerable client relationships which could lead to business opportunities. They may be assigned a market/geography/solution/account or a set of clients for business development. They shall be responsible for generating an agreed amount of revenue for the year

- Create strategy for the private equity clients and hedge fund clients including helping in posting of complex accounting entry, adaptation of the new GAAP pronouncements and design of controls

- Support related to areas such as proposals for new business, US GAAP convergence, new accounting pronouncements and other regulatory changes which impact accounting decisions

- Proactively does sales oriented reporting during projects. These would include identifying possible business opportunities for various practices.

- Demonstrate in-depth technical capabilities and professional knowledge. Demonstrate ability to assimilate to new knowledge

Project Related:

- Associate Directors would be leading 1-3 large projects at any time on Accounting Advisory Projects (technical as well as process) other solutions of AAS Team. They shall be having teams report to them at a project level. Associate Directors have the responsibility of project execution and shall report to a director/partner on every project. They shall be responsible for ensuring project profitability, quality as well as adherence to the agreed project plan.

AAS projects would be related to:

- GAAP convergence engagements involving planning, co-ordination and team management

- Provide support to related areas such as US GAAP convergence, new accounting pronouncements and other regulatory changes which impact accounting decisions

- Apply company methodologies in servicing clients on IFRS/US GAAP convergence engagements

- To be up to date with developments on regulatory and accounting matters

- Provide accounting (Indian GAAP/IFRS/US GAAP) trainings to clients

- Support clients to perform due diligence engagements related to acquisitions by private equity investor groups and strategic corporate buyers

- Performing ad-hoc analysis to support transaction negotiations

- Associate Directors shall assist the Partner/Director in managing risks associated with the projects

- The job would require travel to client locations within India and abroad

Thought Leadership:

- Contribute to solution development

- Possess good business acumen- Remain current on new developments in advisory services capabilities and industry knowledge. ADs are expected to be part of industry forums

- Participate in practice initiatives and at times lead such initiatives such as knowledge management or thought leadership

People Related:

- During the course of your work, you will be expected to be a people leader for your department/location and to also manage a team in terms of staffing, appraisals etc.

- Coordinating in developing the practice (people / clients and skills)

- Plays role of a performance manager for junior staff- Is actively involved in training, coaching and mentoring of his/her team

The Individual:

- Expert knowledge of financial reporting process, regulatory requirements, ability to think and advise clients on accounting and financial reporting matters, proactively identify client issues

- Possesses extensive experience in at least two of the key solutions of the AAS

- Prior experience in client facing / account management roles

- Exposure to business development in consulting (Pre-sales support, proposals, RFP responses)

- Possess strong domain knowledge, understanding of business processes and possible risks in operations of at least two industry sectors

- Consistent display of leadership skills

- Strong analytical and problem solving skills

- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- Ability to work well in teams

- Ability to work under pressure – stringent deadlines and tough client conditions which may demand extended working hours

- Willingness to travel within India or abroad for continuous long periods of time

- Demonstrate integrity, values, principles, and work ethic and lead by example

Qualification:

- Qualified Chartered Accountants / CPA / ACCA

- 8+ years of experience Accounting advisory, due diligence, Statutory audit and Private equity financial services. More Specific areas of experience

- Professionals with industry experience and experience on PE Funds, Hedge Funds, US GAAP, accounting advisory, training, audit, due diligence, IFRS and securities offering assignments in India / abroad
