Assistant Vice President - Legal - LLB - IT/ITeS (10-14 yrs)

Role - AVP Legal

Location - Delhi NCR

In this position, the candidate would lead the legal, compliance and privacy function for India.This position will be a resource for all business units and functions, providing strategic direction, consultation and assistance in the management of corporate and regulatory compliance programs, and will serve as the ethics and compliance officer for the India location. This position will also take direction on matters of Privacy and Compliance from other members of the Legal/Compliance Department.

Other responsibilities with respect to the India location include:

- Manage and oversee the Company's commercial contracting purposes, including contract forms

- Assist with complex litigation

- Manage employment law matters

- Maintain the Company's governance records, including minutes, Board materials and stock ledgers while managing the Corporate Secretary function

- Protect the Company's IP portfolio

- Build and maintain relationships with major customers/Vendors of the Company and their legal staffs

- Educate internal stakeholders on compliance, legal and data protection requirements

- Continually promote a culture of compliance, integrity and data protection internally and with customers/vendors

- Responsible for development, maintenance and enforcement of global compliance policies that are applicable across multiple business units

- Manage local legal department budget

- Support legal needs of the Company's international affiliates

- Stay abreast of regulatory and legislative changes and their impact on the Company

- Review Company marketing materials

- Support the Company's M&A activities

Preferred Candidate Profile:

- LLB, with minimum of 10 years related experience required

- Mix of outside (law firm) and in-house (corporate legal) experience a plus

- Experience operating in a highly complex, highly regulated & global environment

- General Counsel experience preferred

- Overall broad legal knowledge (corporate law, employment laws, contract, etc.)

- Experience with code, policy and ethics requirements and issues (including Foreign Corrupt Practices Act)

- Experience handling litigation

- Familiarity with the US and international data protection requirements Experience in incorporating & integrating new businesses into operations.

- Prior experience in IT / ITeS Setup Preferred.
