About Learning & Development

The purpose of the Learning & Development team is to provide solutions to the organisation with regard to talent management, and the building of the capabilities of four categories of staff, i.e. individual contributors, first line managers, managers of managers and leaders. Through business focused L&D activities such as e-learning, workshops, projects and programmes the team provides opportunities to all staff to build their knowledge and skills.

- The aim of the team is to institutionalise- L&D activities and processes wherever possible and to equip the HR Generalists and work closely with them in delivering Talent Management and L&D solutions to the teams that they support.

- The team actively behaves as a focal point and connects the dispersed members of the HRG team to reduce any duplication of activity or costs; and to learn from each other in how to deliver cost effective Talent Management, and L&D solutions that have a real impact on the organisation's ability to achieve the short and long-term business goals.

Purpose of your role:

- The L&D Assistant Manager is an integral part of the global and local L&D team, and will be responsible for supporting all aspects of the training process. While a large part of the role is to partner with the central L&D team and wider HR community, a significant portion also involves working closely with the Senior Manager responsible for L&D in India and thereby providing local support.

- By doing so, the individual is in a position to contribute significantly to the Talent Management and Learning and Development agendas, equally around the globe as well as in India.

- Additionally, the individual may also be involved in driving and coordinating specific local projects as agreed on an annual basis.

Your key accountabilities: (some of which would be common but separate across the Central L&D team and the Local L&D team in India):

- Plan, coordinate and conduct a Training Needs Identification on an annual basis, while working closely with the HR Generalists and Central L&D team, as per agreed upon timelines

- Conduct a detailed Needs Analysis and drive processes to agree upon / validate requirements to focus on with HR Generalists and the Central L&D team, where applicable

- Plan for quarterly calendars across locations as well as India, based on criticality and / or volume of training needs emerging

- Support the Central or Local L&D team in finalizing dates for delivery

- Driving the training nomination process, while keeping in mind functional and / or business coverage

- Ensuring all pre training logistics and arrangements are made, including venue, invitee- s, guest speaker sessions, any required online learning, etc.

- Conducting post training feedback and other assessments, where applicable

- Act as a point of contact for HRGs seeking input and information on development activities either internal or external

- Assist in the process of designing, developing and piloting workshops and programs in the local L&D team, according to identified and agreed priorities, this may include:

a) Conducting a diagnostics exercise for new programs

b) Validating requirements for existing programs

- Assist locally while working with third party training providers and other suppliers and work closely with the Senior Manager L&D to support them in administering contracts, billing and payments, etc.

- Work closely with the local L&D team on certain projects, e.g. integration of Harvard ManageMentor, the Mentoring Initiative, etc.

Your skills and experience:

- Able to communicate positively and with impact, with stakeholders at all levels

- Ability to multi task, juggle between multiple priorities and meet project timelines

- Highly organized and efficient, with a keen focus on quality

- Strong level of initiative, flexibility and problem resolution skills

- Being able to influence colleagues in different locations, and - make things happen-

- Relationship building skills with colleagues and stakeholders in different locations

- Any experience of working with global teams would be an added advantage (hence possessing a global mind set with cultural sensitivity)

- Multi-disciplined HR background with any exposure to training or learning and development may be preferred
